“Only drove 75 miles and it was worth it, we milled the food in the car, it was just like home, thank you so much for bringing back all the memories of take outs on a Friday night from Walkinstown or Clondalkin, a long way from home, we ordered 2, 3 in 1 trays and extra curry sauce and prawn crackers and chicken balls and spicebag chicken balls and 2 cans of rock shandy, portion sizes is big, and the food is amazing. Run don’t walk here, food porn as in the pic below.“

“Excellent take out home cooked meal style food. I love and buy the salmon piece which is huge and is $8. I also get chicken cutlets for the kids. The cabbage and side items also look good but I just add at home a side and the meal is done. Also the coffee is my favorite in the neighborhood. Muffins melt in my mouth particularly the corn and chocolate chip. They should have more chocolate chip or maybe not bc I would buy and eat it more. There food is great home cooked style for a FAIR price. I’m so glad they are in my neighborhood.“

“Had my husband’s surprise party this weekend. My family has had parties their in the past and Monahan’s continues to live up to their excellent reputation. The servers were so friendly, professional and engaging with our family…their personalities are perfect for their jobs….thank you so much. The food was outstanding….first time we had the stuffed mushroom and they were amazing. All our appetizers, The London broil, turkey and pasta salad were just perfect. My guests were very happy. “Not sure where some of the other reviews about the bartenders come from. We were here from Vermont, and this was far and away the best place we visited in the city. Drinks were good, bartender made a point to get peoples names and talk to them like friends. John was awesome. The shepherds pie was also on point!“

“I first discovered Finnegans Wake in 1990 and it was and still is my favorite NY place. Those were the days, my friend. We thought they’d never end but I haven’t been back to NYC since 2013. I heard Ignatius passed and May he RIP and Frank, the best bartender must have retired. If not, please give him a shout out from his “California Girls , Maria and Kelly.“

“I got chocolate chips pancake and turkey egg cheese with home fries. Sandwich was good, they added tomato sauce with mayo, so it all blend in together. The pancake was little disappointing as I had to eat it dry because didn’t provide any syrup. But it was soft and fresh. Would order here again.“

“Very very good food! Our first time here after having heard about it for forever. Good wings, but my partner's shepherd's pie (although made with beef) was the winner, perfectly spiced and delicious. My Jameson chicken was very good as well. Enormous portions and we each brought a large amount home. Best soda bread I've had outside Ireland.

Very friendly attentive service. It was a little hard to hear due to all the hard reflective surfaces and music playing and cheerful people talking, but this was a great place. We'll be back, and are especially interested in the Sunday roast.

“Being in a train station (and a very busy train station) one would not expect a great bar experience - well atleast I wasn’t but I was wrong. A colleague and I were in NYC for a board meeting, and it wrapped up early. She said let’s stop at Irish Exit for a drink and well we did. Once you walk out the “station”, it’s like walking into a true Irish bar (albeit busier). Amazing selection of beer, wine and the hard stuff. Good service, free Wi-Fi and most things can be done via QR code. Will definitely visit next time I’m at Penn.“
