“Best burek in all of NYC hands down. I can never really find pita and burek with cabbage , leek, or pumpkin, but Dea has all of them.

Perfectly crispy, flaky, not greasy, full of ingredients, and made with love, this food brings me back to my grandmother’s cooking from my childhood.

“I went to Markette for dinner and drinks before an event at MSG. Markette brings an incredible option to this area. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is something you’d see further downtown. I started off downstairs for a drink and the Mango Martini was unreal. They have a different drink menu from upstairs and I would definitely go back to try others. I can’t say enough good things about the food upstairs. Everything our table had from the crudo to rock shrimp linguini to the lamb was unreal. A side dish of the lamb but the pita bread was maybe the best I’ve ever had. 10/10 recommend and would go back.“

“Recently went and although the food and waiter staff were great, we were expecting what we seen on here. There was no performances. An empty space. Apparently there's a 2 hr gap between brunch and dinner. The booking site allowed for a 4pm reservation. When we arrived we were accommodated but looked at funny. We found out that brunch had ended at 3pm. I was really hoping for the full experience I seen here and paid alot and didn't get it.“

The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, friendly smile and a cozy ambiance that set the tone for the evening. The menu offers a perfect balance of classic favorites and innovative dishes (shout out to the Chief), ensuring there’s something for everyone. I started with the Georgian salad and eggplant rolls, which was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. For my main course, I chose Ojakhuri which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. My friends selected: Adjaruli khachapuri (cheese and egg in the middle of deliciously baked bread) and Shrimp dish. This goes well with chacha and compote drink, make sure to have few shots. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to make recommendations based on our preferences. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, enhancing the overall dining experience. To top it all off, we indulged in the dessert, had 4 various ones that we split and all were AMAZING! This was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. “We went there for lunch on a whim on a weekday. The place is tiny and clean and doesn't look fancy. The food was Balkan style - either Serbian or Croatian - and it was very good. There was only one person working there and she took care of us well.“

“My friend and I came for a wonderful dinner last night. My friend had Svickova and I had the roast pork with sauerkraut, and dumplings. Everything was delicious and authentic just like when visiting the Czech Republic. We also had some great Czech beer! Service was also very friendly and the restaurant itself looks very nice and cozy inside. Koliba is truly a gem in New York City and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Czech cuisine!“

“Would highly recommend. Portions are generous for the price point and above average for this type of food. The fluke crudo is a great starter, fresh and vibrant with a nice mix of textures. For mains, the duck and red snapper are both excellent but the duck is the move. The dates add an incredible depth of flavor. Don’t sleep on it. Service was great too — our waitress checked in on food allergies upfront which I always appreciate, and there’s coat check which is a nice touch.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​“

“I thought I had left a review but i guess i didn't! I went here last year for my 31st birthday my boyfriend surprised me after months of me wanting to come visit. I'm originally from NYC but live hours away.

I loved the decor and the vibe of it all, our hostess was so sweet and attentive and acknowledged it was our first time there so she helped all she could. The food aside from the grits that day were delicious, well cooked and the performances were great and loved getting a good laugh along with enjoying the music in between just getting to enjoy the atmosphere. I was surprised they also sing you happy birthday, my boyfriend had mentioned it when we were ordering and to have the performers sing with the rest of the staff was a cute experience for this goth birthday girl <3“

“We love Djerdan and have been coming here for years. Our favorites: burek and cevapi (of course), sarma and paprika! Also love their salads. Haven’t had one in a while so I think it’s time to have a sopska salad! Definitely give Djerdan a try next time you are in Astoria!“
