Brewer's Row Beer Bar • $
228 7th Ave, Brooklyn

“The service here is really the standout. Every single bartender is friendly, and there are always more than enough staff to help. It really shines through! They do samples, and small pours which is great.
As a beer snob, I really wish they had some better options though. With 12+ taps i find that only 4-5 are really something special with the rest being average at best. If they can up the options just a little it would be a 5 star bar.“

Strong Rope Brewery Red Hook Brewery • $
185 Van Dyke St, Brooklyn

“Only stumbled across this because I wanted to have a drink with a friend who was sailing on the Queen Mary 2 the next day.

There's nothing fancy about it, but, as a brewery, they actually have a good craft beer list and the bartender was happy to tell you about the offerings. The Storyteller Imperial Stout was excellent, and I'm admittedly hard to please.

Even better than the beer is the view from the tables outdoors, which features the Statue of Liberty. Worth a visit by itself.“

“Always a fantastic experience when we eat here. Most recently was there with a group of friends for weekend brunch. The food is high quality gastropub fare, the service is warm and attentive, and the ambience is great - retro games, good music. The drinks are all great, but my favorite thing to do is try whatever new beers they are brewing at the moment. Even kinds I don't usually love are delicious there, and very creative. This time we were in the game room area, but the roof is also fantastic - amazing views.“

“Tap Beer New York is hands down one of the best spots in the city if you’re looking for a perfect combo of great food, excellent beer, and a lively atmosphere. The food here is absolutely amazing—flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re ordering something small to pair with a drink or diving into a full meal, you won’t be disappointed.

The beer selection is top-notch, with a wide variety of local brews and popular favorites on tap. There’s always something new to try, and the staff is happy to offer recommendations if you’re not sure where to start.

What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. On select nights, they have live music that adds a great vibe without overwhelming conversation. Plus, they show all the major sports events, so it’s a go-to spot for game day too.

The service is friendly and attentive, and the overall energy is welcoming without being over the top. Whether you’re with friends, on a date, or just want to unwind solo with a good beer, Tap Beer New York hits all the right notes. Definitely a 5-star experience!“

“Cool high ceilinged space with brewing taking place right in the middle of the floor. Great selection of beers, small food menu, but everything I had was superb. Service was attentive and friendly. I’ve been road tripping and visiting a LOT of breweries but their Almost Famous NEIPA is the best beer I’ve had this trip.“

“Nice place.

Forever ever nice to start. No controversy here. Refreshing. Can really feel yeast is well alive unlike sterilized canned beer.

Also had higher alcohol content alike Double Nectaron Daydream with 8.5%. Felt the buzz. Deceptively tasty. Chic drink? Nope unisex well-liked for most tastebuds.

Also had dark one. Not universally liked. Texture syruppy. I liked it. Quite different but others mixed reviews. No wander bartender offered tasting before ordering for 4.

The place does have TV, so possibly watching MLB playoff. But more of midtown place to hang out after work.
Got really crowded. Tough to get table, seat or even standing room.“

City Hops Craft Beer and Wine Bar Brewpubs • $$
1145 2nd Ave, New York - 5.85 miles

“Small but great and unusual selection of beers. 12 taps of beers you won't find in many places. Plenty of cans if the taps don't excite you. A good wine selection if someone in your party doesn't want beer. It can get very crowded very quickly, as it is a small space. Lots of sports on the many TVs. Nice staff!“

“Okay so 4 of us went tonight. We weren’t crazy about all of us getting our food 20-30 mins apart. But it was because they just started a new ticket / menu system and it was like the 2nd day. With that being said the waiter and another waitress apologized and came over like 3 times. Were soooo friendly and sweet. Offered a free drink and just all in all were so kind. Matt his name was. Super nice guy. The ONLY disappointment was they have ZEROOO desserts. Not a cookie. Not a scoop of ice cream. Nothing. And I don’t kno about yous but after I eat I NEEEEED something sweet or like I can’t go on with my life lol. I’m Hoping they change that !!! I’ll definitely be back. The food was OUTRAGEOUS . I go out to eat a lot. Like ALOT. And the food is usualy decent or even good but the food was RIDICULOUS like I’ll be dreaming about the brisket n pastrami sandwich for days. The Mac n cheese was great. The coleslaw so good and the corn also fantastic. Fries even were good like I really loved It all!“

“It's crazy to say, but it's difficult to find great breweries with an awesome Taproom experience anymore and even harder in the city. This has become my go to spot because of their consistency (food and service) and hospitality, not to mention the amazing beer (and spirits - they make their own)!! They've started doing beer dinners and food pairings for their specialty releases and the ones I've been there for have been exceptional. The chef and brewer do a great job pairing the food and beer. I grew up when beer dinners were a big deal so it's cool to see a local brewery bringing them back!!!“

“Unexpected game night. Table reservations were weird... a lot reserved with people not showing up. Was encouraged to reserve on OpenTable to force one to become available for us. Seemed like a step I shouldn't have had to take. Was given a different beer than I order but ended up with a freebie as a correction. Can't go wrong with that. Decent trivia but don't move at a pace that kept my table as engaged as they could have been in the game Fun overall, big place, wasn't overcrowded but was still pretty full. I'd go back“
