I typically get the regular DuMont Burger, the smaller size, with onion rings and maybe soup if they have tomato that day. The DuMac and cheese burger is a good way to get a bit of the good stuff without buying a full order of the Mac.
Smash burgers are on trend right now, and I don’t understand that. I love a thick burger, and I order medium rare because I am confident in the quality of their food.“

“I really want this place to succeed, so I'm offering a bit of constructive feedback in this review. I'll start with the good, which is the most important thing: the food! Definitely one of the best smashburgers I've had in NYC, it really hits the spot when that craving hits.
The not-so-good: the concept feels a bit confused between fast casual and full-service restaurant. Both times I’ve visited, there’s been just one person taking orders, making drinks, and running food. That setup doesn’t make much sense, even when it’s not busy, and it leads to long waits just to order or grab a drink.

If the goal is fast casual, that’s great—just simplify. Skip the full bar and focus on easy-to-serve options like soda, beer, or wine (think Xi’an Famous Foods). But if the aim is a proper restaurant experience with cocktails and table service, it needs more staff to make that work smoothly.

TL;DR: Amazing food, but the service model needs clarity. Either add staff and/or offer table service, or lean fully into fast casual so the experience matches the quality of the burger.“

“One of my favorite local meat spot!
They do corkage fee, which I personally HIGHLY appreciate as I am a wine enthusiast and love enjoying some of my wines with dinner.
Their pricing is great, specifically for New York. They offer a limited menu which I personally like, that usually means they do whatever they have on the menu with fresh produce.
Typically they have 2 pieces of meat they offer, I always tend to go for the churrasco, the best option in my mind.
They do as well fresh pasta (usually different every time we've been there) and those are usually quite tasty as well!
In terms of appetizers, we've tried the blood sausage and their empanadas, both are great.
The atmosphere is simple, and nothing like a fancy steakhouse but for the price and the quality, I will definitely keep going there, specifically with their (relatively affordable) corkage fee!“

“The flavors here are delicious! The burgers were very good and the fries were excellent. The knockwurst was just a hot dog I was thinking it might be something more creative and for the price. Speaking of the price, the price is very high and not a place that can become a regular lunch spot. The portion sizes are also small, the smash burger is more of a smash slider size, not a full burger size. That said the flavors were great!“

“Gator is a standout restaurant. Definitely in the running for best brunch in Greenpoint. I’m absolutely shocked that this place isn’t full to the brim every weekend. Every item on their menu is carefully devised, unique, and created to a very high standard. Their green eggs and ham are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Full of flavor, perfectly cooked. The flatbread?? “Revising my review because they revamped the place, and became halal certified. Added 2 new digital ordering kiosks which is great. Food took about ~10 min to come out.

I tried their chicken wrap and it was okay, the chicken was a bit soggy and even though the menu said it came with tomatoes there were none in mine. I also think that the cucumbers don't really match the rest of the flavors, maybe pickles would be better.

The popcorn chicken is amazing, just a bit too spicy (uneven coating of spices). The prices are quite good though for the portion sizes.

Overall, I'd come back since it's good to support smaller shops and halal certified places.“

My wife and I tried Lacey's for the first time yesterday around 6 pm, and I'm telling you, not only was the food amazing, but the gentlemen running the place were welcoming and attentive. We were greeted immediately upon entering the door, and within 5 minutes, we had placed our order and made our way to the speakeasy in the back to wait. The entire vibe was amazing, and the speakeasy I have to say is a place I could relax in every weekend. The music was perfect for the mood, and I repeat, the food was absolutely delicious. My wife oreder the Double Lacey Burger, and I had the Double Rodeo. We shared a side of Chopped Cheese Fries. No complaints at all from me, and I will be a regular from here on out!!! “My kid wanted burger and fries for her birthday on March 9th. We were 2 Adults and 3 children. We spent approximately $140. The burgers could’ve use some seasoning but overall it was ok. There were plenty of options, including chicken and veggie. The fries are hand cut. The manager Raven was friendly and attentive. She made her rounds visiting the tables to check on each customer. The other workers were also patient and friendly. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed the food. We were too busy eating we forgot to take pictures.
