“Such a wonderful bakery with unique flavors. We ordered a Victorian Sponge Cake with Raspberry filling and the whipped cream topping. The cake was gorgeous, tasted amazing and was incredibly light- not overly sweet or heavy. Clio was so helpful in answering any questions I had before ordering and the prices are on par with other local bakeries, if not a bit cheaper.

They also have a storefront that is great to stop by as well. Highly recommend!“

Since discovering JM, I will drive 2 1/2 hours to get a cake for special occasions..I’ve been doing this for 4 years and never disappointed Gorgeous cake designs and exotic fillings - truly appreciated by everyone. Whenever I bring 1 or even 3 cakes (each with a different theme) - the crowd is in awe and the recipients never want to cut it because the cakes are honestly that beautiful and everyone is in awe. “My opinion is 9.3/10. This is a plov, my first one. Wow was it good the meat was soooo tender. The flavors mixed together so well. Only downside is the rice could be left out making it a little chewy but the meat reintroduced moisture into the rice and was sooooo worth it. “I ordered a tres leche cake everyone loved it even though the name in cake was spelled incorrectly I said Barbara I got BAVARA. My sis still loved it so I was happy. . The only thing I must say the girls that were there are nice but they take a long time to service the customers. I went at 6:15am and had to wait 10 minutes just to get serviced. If they can work on that part great place to go. It smells amazing in there with all the pastries.“

Café Saint-Michel serves some of the most interesting coffee drinks in the neighborhood—my favorite is the black sesame latte. Deep, mellow, a little mysterious. The pastries rotate seasonally, but the rhubarb custard danish with orange-laminated dough. No words. Buttery folds that melt into each other like silk in heat.

When I bite into the center, the true middle, it hits: thin flaky crust, thick custard, tart rhubarb exploding across tongue and cheek. It reminds me of the first month of falling for someone you’ll eventually love. That exact bite. Divine craving, new flavors, heady aromas. Intoxicating. Fleeting. There’s only ever one bite like that. The danish builds to it. My last relationship started there. One perfect mouthful, then it was all downhill, like heli-skiing a black diamond at Snowbird. Exhilarating. Dangerously consuming. Then gone in a rush of chilled air.

After the pastry, I usually sip my black sesame latte on the walk home. It’s mellow and wide. A gentle counterpoint to all that sweetness. It reminds me of what happens after love. When the sugar fades and you’re left with yourself again. Still standing. Still full, somehow. The calm expanse of a vista from solid ground.

Café Saint-Michel is like that. A place to touch base. A place to remember how to come back to yourself.“

“OMG The cupcakes are to die for. The frosting is amazing as it is not too sweet. The cupcakes are a perfect size, moist and have the delicious fresh homemade taste. I had the vegan chocolate cupcake and it had a delicious chocolate taste and was not that sweet at all. My daughter said it was the best cupcake she had. It was worth every penny and I can not recommend BKLYN Cake Studio enough for its delicious cupcakes. I definitely want to try the chocolate chip cookies with sea salt next.“

“One of the last, real, Family bakeries in the area! A good variety of all the usual suspects and breads, all baked as expected. They maintain the variety I feel by cutting down on specific quantities of each,- a fair tradeoff, so shop early if you have a specific need. I've lived in the area since mid 90s, and watched too many of this type of shop close at an increasing rate, many bought out by chain bakeries that ship product in from miles away. I hopw this one survives.“

“This bakery has Dominican cakes available in slices or the whole cake. They do custom orders or you can ask them to decorate one of the cakes they have ready on display if you're short on time. I'm Dominican and I'm very picky about Dominican cake and they did a great job. I also tried the dulce de leche cortado and it was so delicious. The prices are very reasonable.“
