“This restaurant is the go-to spot for authentic Jamaican food. I enjoy all the dishes especially the curry goat and sweet chilli chicken which are show stoppers on the menu. The curry goat has bold flavors and the meat is tender. The staff are professional and personable. The restaurant is clean and the food is served fresh. If you are craving Jamaican food, this restaurant will satisfy your taste buds.“
“I love this place, the food is so homemade and so delicious, it doesn't have excess seasonings or is heavy and it always has the perfect amount of salt?, the people who work at this place are so helpful and friendly that I could eat here every day, I love this place and it is super clean, I definitely recommend it!!“
“The place is pretty small, more of a takeout style since there are only 2 stools alongside the narrow counter. I ordered the traditional chimi chimi minus the mayonnaise since I just hate mayonnaise. The sandwich comes with the beef patty, pan de agua, green tomatoes, and white cabbage, and the sauce is a mix of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and hot sauce. I got the homemade tamarind juice to drink. The chimi was pretty good, I loved that they really kept it traditional with the green tomatoes and white cabbage. The sauce mixture was very good. The meat itself was a bit dry and lacked flavor so you definitely need the sauce to up the flavor. The tamarind juice was absolutely delicious and tasted, just like how they make it in DR. The fried cheese balls were just ok. We also ordered the beef empanadas, which were probably my favorite item along with the delicious green sauce. The service was great. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area and want to eat chimis.“
“I had very high hopes for this place but the food was very basic and diner like. Service was just OK and I don’t know why but I expected the coffee to be better here than water down diner coffee. surprisingly they had parking and the atmosphere was nice but I’m not sure if I would go backVegetarian options: Limited items but nothing special“
“I attended a baby shower here on Sunday afternoon. The entire experience was great. O'Neill's, although a sports bar/ restaurant is a great venue for a private party. The staff was attentive and the food was de-lish. I will definitely go back to have dinner.“
“Googled a breakfast place and this place popped up. Street parking is free before 9:00 a.m. which was nice, atmosphere was classic Mom and Pop diner. Server was friendly and energetic, got our food in less than 5 minutes, everything was perfect. I had the iced tea unsweetened it was very good, my sister had coffee black said it was some of the best coffee she'd ever had. We both got omelets hash browns and a meat side everything was spot on prices were very reasonable probably going back again tomorrow morning before we head back home.“
“This was one of the top 2 dinners we had both in the City and in the Hamptons this week and was also the least expensive. We couldn’t believe they have Chilean Sea Bass kabobs, and they are only $13 or $20 for a meal. Excellent. Also the dumpling chicken broth dill soup, baklava, hummus, pickles, fries, hot tea- literally everything was fresh and prepared to perfection. As other reviewers have written, this is a hole in the wall find, and I would come all the way to Queens to eat here again! Very near JFK. Service was fairly quick, clientele mostly large families, takes credit cards. Wonderful Israeli/middle eastern cuisine in a very casual atmosphere at very reasonable prices!“
“Been coming to Gee Whiz for over 10 years on my visits to New York - I choose to ignore all the tourist traps in Midtown and come down here. Always a friendly welcome from the staff, the portions are generous and very keenly priced (given it is Manhattan). Only had breakfast here on a couple of occasions, the Eggs Rancheros and the omelets are amazing! It was downsized considerably a few years ago (I believe the original owner opened another establishment known as Tribeca's Kitchen on the corner of nearby Chambers and Duane Street, and sadly he passed away during COVID.“
“I'm a big fan of lunch specials, so decided to try the "Any 3 Rolls Combo" by Inaka Asian Cuisine, delivery. The rolls were excellent - I tried the salmon avocado, lobster salad avocado and yellowtail scallion rolls. Everything was fresh and delicious. The price was a little higher than some of the other local restaurants and did not include a soup or salad, so not a true lunch special (compared with some of the other restaurants that include a soup, salad or both with their sushi lunch specials). If you're looking for quality sushi, this place has it. The lunch Bento box combination looks like a better deal for the price listed.“
