Generoso's Bakery Cafe & Pizzeria is a quintessential, original family-owned NYC Italian-American business and a gem in Sunset Park. The atmosphere inside is a bit old world, cozy, and familiar. It is an amazing place that balances taste and affordability, offering well-crafted and beautifully presented pastries, fresh ground coffee, and delicious bread. The menu includes awesome Lasagna, enormous hero sandwiches like the Soppressata Heroes, and loved pastas. Their pizza is very good, with regular slices, plain Sicilian, and plain Neapolitan options. Other standout items are arancini, mozzarella sticks described as out of this world, and a unique NYC style cheesecake that is crustless and delicious. Portions are huge. While service may not be top speed, clear effort is made. It is a marvelous place worth keeping alive for generations to come.
