Kyoto Sushi Reviews
My son and I eat there quite a bit . Good value and suishi is excellent . Always start with the avocado salads . Service is spot on and friendly . Also, I think reviews in general should be by in house not take out orders.
Not real Japanese, more
Like American/Chinese interpretation.
The sushi is good but they do not appear to know how to make hot dishes. In the past the hot food was good. The yaki soba was not cooked correctly. It was more of a soup and arrived warm. It should of been caramelized and actually hot. The gyoza was also just warm and was steamed instead of the pan fry we asked for. I will continue getting sushi here but I will only give it one more chance on the hot food.

Kyoto Sushi offers good food at reasonable prices and is a solid choice for Japanese cuisine in the area. The restaurant has a small to medium-sized venue on Nassau St., with a dim interior and typical Japanese restaurant decor. The food quality includes some standout dishes like the crunchy spicy salmon, sweet potato roll, curry chicken donburi, and miso soup, which are fresh and delicious. While some customers noted issues with inconsistent quality, such as fishy-tasting sashimi and cold tuna, others enjoyed the very good and fresh sushi, including the Sunny Flower Roll, Shrimp Dragon Roll, and Sake Sushi (Salmon). The gyoza and veggie tempura also received positive remarks for being great and fresh. Service at Kyoto Sushi is fast and efficient, and everything arrives hot. Overall, it is a decent neighborhood spot with potential for improvement and is likely to remain a part of the normal takeout rotation for many.
