One of my favorite spots in the area! Don’t mind the size or decor of the place, it’s catered to local Bengali folk, not your wannabe cool instagram microinfluencers. Their jhal muri is so good and not something you find easily in a generic South Asian establishment (like Nawabi Bhoj across the street.) Star Cafe & Bakery offers fantastic South Asian milk tea and snacks, including delicious vegetable and meat samosas for $1.50 each. The service can be hit or miss, but the food is consistently praised as hot, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Despite the small space and occasional crowds, the great prices and tasty menu items make this cafe a neighborhood favorite.
