This place is so good! Such a solid neighborhood staple. As a meat eater, I was pleasantly surprised at how good all the plant-based dishes are (trying to cut back on how much meat I eat). The portions are generous too, and it's a nice change from some of the greasier Chinese food I eat. The lady who works at the front counter is super sweet - always nice chatting with her. The food always comes out hot and fast! Smoothies are great too.
I was really in the mood for hot n sour soup so ordered takeout from zen. I appreciate that the restaurant is entirely vegetarian ( vegan, actually) as that avoids mistakes I’ve experienced in the past (with meat being slipped into dishes). It was just spicy enough and authentic. I think a bit of miso would improve it though. The spring rolls were huge and delicious! I actually had to save the rest of my order for another day! Super tasty, with nuggets (and nugget sauce) that rival the classic ones from the now long gone Vegetarian Paradise 2. They're about 95% accurate to those, so if you miss those, you'll be in heaven. Really enjoyed the tofu garlic sauce as well. Will be getting from here more often.
