“It’s a family diner staffed by mom Heather, daughter Terra , son Scott ….the most excellent cook…. and Audrey , Scotts woman.. The service is always good as well as the food they serve …which by the way ….is selected by quality not by cheap price. Heather has a tendency to whip up some really tasty, almost decadent desserts so you’re going to want to sample some of them when you stop in. The atmosphere here is casual family friendly. You’ll like the welcoming happy faces from the ladies waiting tables. Terra , Audrey and mom Heather when she’s not making desserts . It’s a really nice diner for breakfast and lunch. Give it a visit.”

“Traveling home from a wedding in Columbus OH to home in Maine we pinned the halfway point to stop over. We discovered this gem of a restaurant of MJ's on the Susquehanna River in historic Owego, NY. We dined ohe deck by the river. We ate the butter lettuce pockets of vegetables and a Greek salad. DELICIOUS! Having been so sensible with our vegetarian supper we shared the pan cooked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and caramel sauce. Great service, decor, funk factor, clean and good. We may live 8 hours away, but this dining experience makes it worth returning for. Plus there are plenty of interesting places to see in this part of NY.”

I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing, the beer is delicious, and the young employees that work there are extremely personable! The young man behind the bar makes the business 100x better. If your dog treats were so important to you, then you wouldn’t have left them. Mind you, they were $7. If this was a costly decision, you wouldn’t have left them. Please take accountability for your mistake before blaming customer service individuals.”

Today I went to get some ice cream and an unfortunate situation happened. A woman dropped her ice cream while getting into her car and immediately turned to insult the workers, even saying it was their fault for not “pushing the scoops down hard enough”. She demanded a replacement, was understandably refused, and started reaching into the order window, yelling at them the whole time. Can’t imagine where someone gets off talking that way to teenagers trying to do their job, over ice cream no less.

What really stood out, though, was how well the young ladies working today handled it. They absolutely did not deserve to be treated that way, but still stayed calm, professional, and respectful, and did an excellent job de-escalating the situation. Good on them for standing up for themselves.
