“Ive been to many mexican restaurants and this will ALWAYS come on top. going to Puerta Mexicana is a gift and something I always love to do with friends and family. This restaurant has opened my eyes to everything birria, and i’m never going back. The birria quesadilla is amazing and I love to get it with extra lime. The atmosphere is so cozy and decorated and i love Puerta Mexicana with all of my heart???“

“Absolutely amazing! My daughter and I had an appointment in the area today, and being not from the area I asked for recommendations on the Long Island Foodies page. You did not disappoint!! We ordered four tacos (the crispy chicken was my favorite,) corn, jalapeño poppers and drinks. Every single item was amazing! Then the staff - we are outside and from the first staff member we met to the last the service was top notch! Extra thanks to the gentleman who made sure to bring me out some Fat Boy Sauce, because I mentioned it was our first time he said “you have to have it.” He was right. We did! And Sal. “I came here with 3 of my friends after having a few beers at Bright Eye.We ordered Queso and chips to share for the table. The queso was smooth and creamy. There were also way more than enough tortilla chips for the 4 of us to share. We also ordered fries to share. The fries were amazingly crisp. My husband and I ordered The OG and the SoCal burrito - we ended up sharing and took half of the burrito each so that we were able to add some variety to the meal. We felt a little rushed when ordering since it was our first time here and we were staring at the menu for awhile. However, they are generous with the toppings and the food tasted fresh. “It doesn't look like much from the outside but this place is very good. My wife and I live down the street and we come here at least once a week. We try to make it down for taco Tuesdays they have $3 Tacos and they are delicious. My favorite is the Al Pastor, and maybe the chorizo at a close second, but they are all super tasty. I also love their home made Sopes tortillas and the quesadillas. In addition to the delicious food the owners are so nice so it makes you want to keep coming back. Get the jalapeño margarita if you can handle the heat. You won't be disappointed.“

We tried buffalo cauliflower, barbacoa, pastor, carnitas, carne asada (truffle sauce was delicious), tuna (wasn't crazy they were served in lettuce, no thanks, I'm here for tacos!), and shrimp. Great option to get 8 for $50 to try a variety. A little pricey to not even include some beans or rice but yummy. Desserts were tasty having churros and flan. We really wanted to try the spicy chocolate cake on the menu but we were told they discontinued it and they need to update their menu. Waiter was attentive. The staff was professional and kind. The water glasses stayed filled without having to ask. Decor was on point. So creative and attractive . Great logo design and the painted parking spots are so original! Music was great. Acoustics were really loud in the place and it was very hard to talk, had to shout at each other the whole time but if that loud busy vibe is what they're going for they nailed it. “On a torrential rainy evening while the Best Buys parking lot in Westbury NY our car battery died -with my 93 year mother inside - as we waited (4 hours ) for AAA to come jump the car. The only bright light of the evening was Tacombi. Drenching wet, I was greeted by the most gracious and kind manager Alec who took such care and consideration of my mother and myself. “I had a reservation for 5 people on a Monday evening in early November, and when we got there found out that the restaurant was going to close that day but opened up just to serve us rather than cancel. I was a little skeptical that the owner could be host, wait staff, bus staff, and cook and still get us in and out of there in a reasonable amount of time, but boy were we all impressed! The dinner went off without a hitch, we had wonderful food served up in a timely fashion, some complimentary hot apple cider on the cold evening and even some free desserts to taste in honor of the birthday of one of our party! Fantastic customer service under trying conditions, which we really appreciated, and everyone swore to come back another time! Based on the prices you might expect an upscale environment, but while it was comfortable it was pretty bare-bones inside.“
