“Lesslye Hernandez isnt telling the truth. The girl that works there is actually is very nice and really does her job well. she has a great vibe snd really knows how to take care of her customers. Lesslye Hernaandez is a liar and clearly dont got nothing to do with her life other than ruin others. dont listen to this brainless woman?. she was just impatient and clearly didnt understand that they just wanted to fix her order and didnt want to disappoint her but she was too impatient and rude. This place has great customer service and has great workers. Def recommend this place. Especially the girl that works there she is very nice and will make sure to take care of you. Some people just think they own the world or something. Once again don’t listen to this women. Customer service is great and everyone there does their job correctly!!!!“

The only thing that could be better was the person at the register, he was highly engaged in his phone so his responses/interaction was quick short, kind of like he didnt want to be bothered. “I work for a law firm in CA and we have an employee who works remotely in NY.. For our employee's birthday I wanted to choose a bakery close to her home and who was local. Stumbled upon Buttercup Bake Shop and they were so awesome! Totally worked with me and delivered the cupcakes with NO hassle. Needless to say our NY employee was super happy and LOVED the flavors and decorations of the cupcakes. ❤️“

“This bakery is awesome! The inside is adorable and the baked goods are amazing. We had a blueberry rosemary cheesecake kouign aman and it was one of the best pastries I’ve ever eaten.

There’s a few seats in the shop which was nice to enjoy our treats. Surprisingly not super busy on a Saturday morning but I can’t imagine that will last long!“

“I was looking everywhere for a bakery that could do a matcha flavored birthday cake for my boyfriend’s birthday and the team at Les Gateaux de Marie was so amazing and accommodating. Everyone loved the cake and couldn’t stop talking about it, the cake was perfectly sweet, light and airy, and all of the staff were SO KIND. Will be back again and again! Thank you for making his birthday so special!“

“Small café, but very bright, clean, and airy. There was was a small loveseat, a couple barstools, one or two cafe tables with 2 seats, a bench with a cushion and 3 café tables out on the sidewalk. Came in about 1:30pm, and were greeted warmly. Almost all of the pastries were gone, but the cheese with fig danish and the plain croissant they had left were good. We also tried the matcha lemonade, strawberry matcha and a hot black sesame latte. I liked the sesame latte A LOT, the strawberry was good, and I personally hated the lemonade, but that is a personal preference thing. The good thing about it is it isn't too sweet, but it was heavy on the matcha, so it tasted like liquid grass to me. I definitely like nuttier sencha tea better. The prices were average for the area, and since everything is pricey now, it is what it is.

There were other patrons there, busily working and looked like they had been there for quite a while, which tells me it may be a good place to sit and focus for an hour or two.

My party of three sat outside and because it is located in a predominantly residential area, it was a nice place to sit since there aren't tons of pedestrians. There were a few bees/wasps though, so we had to leave after a bit(highly allergic). There were also mosquitos and lantern bugs around--I suspect there is some standing water on a roof nearby.

I will definitely walk over here again to get that sesame latte, and maybe stay and pretend looking productive. But I'll definitely come back.“

“All of their baked goods are absolutely incredible and never disappoint. I personally think their whips are overpriced for what they are, but I their baked goods are 100% worth it. Huge portions and always super fresh. I love sitting inside when it's not very busy.“

“My sister was having a beach chic baby shower because her and her husband do not want to know the gender. She wanted cupcakes that looked like succulents that also taste delicious. I immediately thought of Huascar and asked if he could do it. I traveled to Florida with them and they were a hit. “I went here when it was new and didn't find a lot to choose from (maybe they ran out already that time of day). Popped in recently since was in the area and there were a lot more buns/baked items to choose from. Prices are lower than some bakeries. Mochi donuts are $3; buy 2 get 1 free. Steamed buns were ok: tried the pork and veggie; and combo bun - with added quail egg, piece of sausage and shrimp.
Staff is helpful, and amiable.
Have tables/stools so good for a quick bite. No restroom.
Not far from Queens Boulevard so close to buses and Grand Ave/Newtown subway stop.“

“This is a popular bakery store in Chinatown that has lots of bakery and confectionery items. They also sell few cooked dishes like steamed broccoli, pepper streak, chicken, tofu that are sold with white rice. They have bubble teas as well, but it’s powder based. We bought few of their bread items and egg tars.

The store looks pretty old. The menus are handwritten on paper, taped on the walls. There’s one table in the corner for guests to sit, but full of dirt. Despite the issues with the appearance, their food quality and taste keeps bringing lots of customers.“

I showed them an inspiration photo less than 2 weeks before the event, chose the flavors and prayed it was beautiful and delicious!
