“Walked in thinking it's an Irish bar, walked out having one of the best times ever at any bar. This is a gay bar on steroids but that's what makes it oh so better. I know what you straights are thinking, but this place is Uber welcoming of people from all walks of the road. Probably one of my most favorite random bars of all time. The food was great and priced even better. The staff was Uber friendly and the drinks were top notch. The crowd was the happiest and sweetest crowd of all time. Tbh not a single sour puss! Highly recommend this place for everyone and anyone! The music, the food, the drinks, the staff, the atmosphere... all so fun that honestly I kinda wish I was gay now lol. Give this place a shot, you won't regret it!“
“Here is what I posted to my own page earlier today… “The Spot” is a nicely appointed newish Gay bar at 44th and 10th. Their is a long bar with a big wide counter…and they serve surprisingly well-prepared bar food items…and they have 2 for 1 happy hour prices on most well drinks. The reason I’m noting this…is that wether you are Gay or Straight…”The Spot” offers a nice new alternative as a place to meet your party prior to a Broadway show. Get there just before 6 to secure a patch of bar for your theater party. A general note to NYC tourists… concentrate your pre and post show dining and drinking options to 9tb and 10th Avenues…and “Restaurant Row” (on 46th Street tween 8 and 9.) Once you get west of 8th Avenue, you’ll escape the tourist traps, find every kind of food in the world…and somewhat lower prices than nearer Times Square. Leave time for a slightly longer walk to your Broadway show…the few extra steps will make a positive world of difference.“
“One of my favorite queer bars in the city. It’s a homey dive bar with such a friendly crowd. Good place to chat and meet people. Drinks are strong and cheap. Great events; very community oriented. I feel so welcomed and at home here! Thank you for being absolutely lovely Albatross ?“
“I really like this bar . Bartenders are friendly and seem like they have a fun time. Drinks are wonderful and at a good value ( Three drinks for 22 dollars is like a steal in this economy ). I also appreciate that they are open during holidays as it gives me a safe space and a community to go to. Music in this more is catered towards 80s/90s music which is personally my thing. They give you drinks in this awesome mug. I just wish I could buy one and bring it home. Community is on the mature/bear side of things. everyone here knows each other and I have had conversations with alot of awesome people. No problem making new friends here. My only gripe is the bar is too small as it can get crowded inside. Besides that, I think this will be a bar I will regular attend to when I am ever in the city. Would recommend.“
“Really low key bar with high key vibes! LGBTQ friendly, CASH ONLY. I love the space in the backyard, it's spacious and open and easy to just chat and have a beer. The indoor space is already quite long with bar seating and high tables. Everyone, staff & clientele, is friendly as well!“
“Was visiting and this bar had a great atmosphere. Also, one of the few gay bars that actually had a menu to look at. Might seem small but my partner and I love to try new drinks and not just name a random drink from the top of our head we already had before.Bartenders were attentive and friendly. Highly recommend and will visit again next time around.“
“This establishment provides an exceptional venue for observing captivating drag performances, socializing with acquaintances, indulging in libations, and relishing an unforgettable evening. The service provided is truly remarkable. The staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and taken care of. The drinks menu is extensive, offering a wide range of cocktails and spirits to suit every taste. The atmosphere is vibrant and energetic, creating the perfect backdrop for a night of entertainment and fun. The attention to detail in every aspect of the experience is evident, making it a truly unforgettable night out.“
“Such a fun gay Irish pub!!! This is the first time I’ve been to one, to watch a World Cup game, but the staff is friendly and the outdoor space is nice. They don’t serve food but you are allowed to bring outside food in and there’s a good taco and pizza place near the bar. Good on tap selection. Decent crowd but I’m sure that changes based on the night. Would go back!“
“We’ve been here twice and both times were great experiences. Staff is friendly, the entertainment is fun. Just found out about the patio with a view of the Chrysler building on our last visit this past Saturday. Will definitely return next time in NYC.“
“Our favorite piano bar ever. The best nights are where they play old classics, such a billy Joel, Elton John etc. Not a huge fan of the pop song nights. The service is incredible, every person who works here is a character of the best kind.Absolutely everyone needs to go at least once!!“
“One of the best bars you’ll ever go to. If you want a bar with a diverse crowd that gives little to no judgement about your aesthetic, then this is the place to be. If you’ve got a kink, there’s probably someone else here that has it too. If you have a hobby, you’ll most likely find a friend. Great drag shows, trivia contests, and “other” contests. I will always come to this bar. They also have some of the cheapest drink prices in NYC and they don’t skimp!!“
“I love this place!!! There's always something new - piano + singing or drag happening upstairs, dance floor in the back, bar in front, clean bathrooms... what more could you want? Oh, and a patio to smoke. I would live here if I could lol.“
“Best bar in the neighborhood. The security made me feel safe and secured. James (the security) is very kind and friendly. Drinks are well made. Music is amazing. I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and it’s one of the best bar in town to have a drink! I would def recommend penicillin & leche de lobo!“
“I love it here am the Security here and everyone from the owners to the bartender's and manager Ricardo and the amazing customers everyone is welcoming a great place for actually everybody no matter who you are. I love working here God bless you guys for accepting me ?.“
“I LOVE Kelvin, the bartender- he has excellent customer service. Love the vibe and the energy here. My one only concern is the cold in the space, it makes it difficult to fully enjoy. Most of the women here tonight agreed with me that the cold is a lot. Please provide more heat for us sensitive femmes. We love you!“
“This place is an excellent homage to the old new york bars: great variety shows, from live piano to burlesque, and reasonably priced drinks. My only reason not to give it five stars is that Club Cummins features the slowest bartender I have ever experienced; this kid can only make and charge one drink at a time, making the experience of buying a simple beer a test of patience.“
“My favorite bar! The bartenders are fantastic and friendly, the patrons are fun and nice, the space is cool and eclectic I'm a very cozy way, it's a great spot to meet somebody new or hang out with somebody old, can't go wrong with “
“The head chef is the owner at spaha soul and his love for food is unmatched ! When you come in you feel like family the way Artist treats everyone and welcomes you in his restaurant it was a amazing experience when we came in there was live music ! Its BYOB so we went crazy! My experience here was 10\10! The food is all fresh and cooked after we order our food took a while but thats to be expected becuase the food is so fresh ! I would recommend this place to ANYONE who is looking for a lovely date night or just some amazing soul food ! Before i forget its also reservations only !“
“My favorite bar when going out with my friends. Usually the music is not very loud which allows you to chat. Larger drinks than in other bars, at a lower price and with more alcohol. I definitely don't change itMy favorite bar when going out with my friends. Usually the music is not very loud which allows you to chat. “This iconic gay bar must be visited and the good news is that they have many events going on all of the time. They have an amazing karaoke or sing along with a live pianist, burlesque nights and many things going on upstairs to check it out. I especially like the bartender Chucky who makes excellent drinks and some of the best service in the city. Still very friendly still very exciting and still has very strong drinks highly recommend.“
“Cute bar with small, raw dance space in the back and seated tables in the side room next to the bar. If you’re looking for top notch AV to dance to this is not your spot. If you’re looking for a great local LGBTQIA++ watering hole; or a nostalgic, hole in the wall, raw space like when you first starting partying and needed an after hours or pregame spot to just relax with friends - which is more about the vibe of the clientele and music than fancy lights and sound anyway - than this is your spot!Saw Lady Bunny DJ for a friend’s bday (not the best mixer by any means but music/vibe was fun and crowd was SUPER diverse)! If you’re throwing a private party I’d say you can fit 75-100 if spaced throughout the venue. Service from the bar could be better (our half-finished drinks kept disappearing from the bar for no reason all night while chatting with friends when not paying attention, so we had to keep ordering more - and getting new ones was not as easy for a smaller bar as you’d think); however, the small bar staff of 3 did their best slinging to a full bar that just kept getting busier through the night, so give them props for staying nice through then night.Wheelchair accessibility: Small but steep ramp at the entrance way, which is a plus to have at all as a disabled patron!“
“Hombres is the best bar in Jackson Heights the service expectacular Starting with the bar men. My favorite of all is my personal favorite bartender Lucho always so nice great attitude and always willing to have a great time with his costumers. Love this place and if I could I would go Monday to Sunday??“
“This place rules. We went because I’m queer and we stumbled upon it (out of towners). My best friend and I (2 cis women) were completely taken care of. It was wonderful. One of my best experiences in NYC. All lovely, not expensive, lots of sweet young men having fun.“
“Historical. Gay. Vibe. It’s a friendly local bar to end your day and start the night. The bar food is hearty. The staff are fab. The crowd are mostly partnered New Yorkers trying to be SJP or Samantha from SatC but half of them probably don’t know the reference. But it’s definitely a vibe.“
“Pieces is an iconic staple of Christopher Street! Cozy yet comforting, the decor is always above and beyond for each holiday or season. The staff is also so welcoming! I cannot overstate how kind Liam and Ruby are. They know how to make a drink ;) I love Sunday bingo with Chaka Khanvict. She’s so funny and the team behind the bar along with her good humor work so well together. Couldn’t recommend enough!“
“Such a cool place with a friendly staff and a lovely crowd the night we were there. It was a sold out event and I wish the dance floor was three or four times as big as it is, but everything else was exactly as I hoped for. Even with a full house the drinks came quickly and I loved the Tony Leungs.“
“Nothing but good music, great deals, and friendly people every time I come in. Bartender (usually the same one) is always so nice every time I come in; two for one drinks until 9 is a steal, and they play good music opposed to most other gay bars in Manhattan. Awesome place.“
“REBAR is a gay bar/lounge in the heart of Chelsea (225 W19th Street) with theme nights and a happy hour with drink specials. Each Sunday, The Richard Cortez Band performs from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Richard revisits jazz classics from the Great American Songbook highlighting songs that had been sung by Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Sinatra and many more as well as songs by composers that include Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Hoagy Carmichael and Stephen Sondheim. Richard's interpretation of these songs is entertainingly unique.“
“Went to their most recent September monthly event and had a great time with my partner! There was an hour of instructor led dance lessons from 8-9pm to learn two versions of basic line dances. Even so, it was pretty difficult for us (we are not natural born dancers). We were also taught the Barn Dance which was a bit easier to learn and a lot of fun as you take turns dancing with 15+ other people during the song. The event takes place in a dance studio and had a special performance by two of the local dance groups associated with Big Apple Ranch. Cost for entry was $20 per person and beer/white claws were available for purchase at a makeshift bar. Overall, I would say this was definitely a worthwhile unique and memorable experience. I plan to come next month with a larger group of my friends. I also loved how so many people were wearing their best western attire including jeans with cowboy boots and hats. I encourage anyone interested in participating to loosen your inhibitions and give it a try even if you aren't entirely comfortable dancing in front of other people. I wasn't very good at first, but it wasn't any less fun.“
“The crowds are good and the drinks are just OK. But the bar is dirty, and it's overcrowded, looking like a fire trap waiting to happen. Clean your disgusting bathroom more. I can only speak for the men's room, but the women's room probably is just as bad. I give it 1 star.“
“Friend's Tavern is one of my favorite bars not only in Queens but all of NYC! They really have the best events and staff! My favorite days are Karaoke Tuesdays with Juan Pablo. Always a good time! From Juan Pablo and Lexier bartending on Friday to Lexier and Esteban bartending on a Sunday with great Djs all the way through the weekend. It's a party! #IYKYK ❤“
“My first time here was a bit of a blur... late night, last stop but do remember having a good time and saying we wanted to go back. Fast Forward to one or two years later, we came back with friends. This time not so late, and we were able to find a couple of spots at the bar. Atmosphere was the same great fun we remembered, and this time they had live music too, with some of the bartenders also taking turns at the mic to sing. And if you are part of the crowd and want to join in, you are welcomed to. Drinks are strong, but service can be a bit slow due to this place being so busy and bartenders multitasking but this is no reason to skip The Duplex. Just be a bit patience and enjoy the fun!“
“I appreciate how open and chill the open mics are for their comedy. I went in as a first timer recently and may have overstepped some of my new material that made some people uncomfortable. However, it was just something new to try out and a way to express my thoughts and not my intention to offend anyone. Had a lot of fun regardless.“
“Both of the Boxers locations are in my preferred gay bar top 5 for NYC. I really appreciate how clean and nice their bathrooms are (especially at the HK location which has really private gender neutral stalls). Yes they have a full staff of hottie bartenders in just boxers, but their bartenders are also almost always really sweet too. I use the happy hour deal the have pretty often, but I also enjoy coming after happy hour either to hang for a game or to be someplace with an energetic vibe with good music. The HK location is great for the rooftop, which seems to be a bit of a secret. It's a nice roof, with engaging seating, and a fun view of midtown (Hearst Tower, Central Park Tower). And best of all its a rooftop that doesnt come with a crazy drink markup.“
“Used to be a little less expensive, but a nice respite from the other nearby clubs and the crowd is mostly cool and welcoming. If you’re trans, go with friends- be careful bc the area itself can be sketchy, and watch your drink girl, be safe everywhere ☺️❤️“
