“We hosted our first meeting of our book club at Carney’s. While I wouldn’t recommend it if you want a quiet place for a conversation (this was my own stupid idea entirely), the servers were super pleasant and patient. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious. I’ll go back for a more party-centric night, but don’t try to host your book club here on a weekend night during football playoffs! ?“
“Went to the Sunday Comedy Brunch. 100% will I recommend this event to all. The food was delicious, the comedians were great, and if you stick with the brunch cocktails (unlimited) it's $135 per couple which includes tax and tip. The event is 3 hours so it left us time to go downstairs and enjoy a few pints.“
“Excellent food! The New Zealand lamb chops are the best I ever had. The spinach and mashed potatoes were also excellent. The waitress came to us after 25 minutes and no one brought us the soup. What annoyed me was that I was charged a $2.00 "S/C: CC Fee" which the waitress couldn't explain. This was in addition to the credit card charge, which I was aware of.“
“Attended a large party at the Irish Poet for my establishment's annual holiday party. For apps, there were chafing dishes of chicken tenders, wings, and pigs in the blanket. I preferred the chicken tenders as the wings and pigs got a bit soggy. Then we were presented with mains: salad, penne a la vodka, chicken franchise, and sliced steak (almost like pot roast), along with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables. The highlights were the steak, potatoes, and vegetables. Most dishes were lukewarm at best. I like my salad dressing on the side, and a thicker vodka sauce. The salad had so much dressing it wilted the lettuce. For dessert, Italian cookies were served but there were hardly enough to go around. I realize a lot of people skip dessert but it wasn't a good look to be short. Overall, I think a few adjustments to the food should be made in the future. That being said, Amy was a fantastic server. In fact, all of the staff/bartenders were attentive, taking orders, and cleaning up.“
“We came here for a late lunch so there weren't many people in the bar. They have plenty of tables and booths, so even during busy times they should be able to fit a big crowd. The food was good, I wasn't a huge fan of my stuffed mushrooms, but they weren't bad. My husband said the French onion soup was excellent and everyone else enjoyed their food (fish & chips and french dip). If you love buffalo chicken, get the salad, it was loaded with boneless chicken bites, but the salad it's self was not much more than lettuce. The decorations for St. Patrick's day were still up, so it was a fun atmosphere. I didn't have a beer, but my friends beer looked perfect. They really know how to pour a Guinness.Dietary restrictions: If you are a pescitarian there are a few good options like fish and chips and stuffed mushrooms. I think the only vegetarian options were appetizers.“
“This place is great. Just walked in for a drink or two, might've been 3. I'm not sure about their food. So I can't comment on that. The beer selection was good. We walked in around 9ish, and a live band was playing on a Saturday night. Music was good, definitely room for dancing. Live DJ afterward. I'm in my 50s, so just a word of caution. Around 11 o'clock, a herd of 20 something yr olds start pouring in. Other than that, good time if you are in the mood to party for a bit.“
