Matese makes my favorite mushroom pies in Queens! They've nailed the perfect balance of buttery flavor, salty cheese, and tomato sauce acidity without slices getting too oily. Crust is a bit on the thicker side, which personally isn't my preference, but tastes great nonetheless. They're my go-to when I'm spontaneously craving beef patties with pepperoni, too, since they're so close to where I live. I have ordered from this place numerous times and have never been disappointed by their pizza. I am writing this positive review, however, due to a recent order that had to be cancelled. Due to circumstances out of their control, the restaurant did not have an item that was the main reason for this order.
