Professional, friendly staff (Matthew and Allen were extra helpful) and well appointed, well maintained rooms. Very convenient location off the 7. Lots of great food anywhere in the neighborhood. There is construction taking place right now and it was a little hard to find the hotel at night, but once complete, I'm sure it will be even more incredible inside!

In need of a hotel near Citified, I spent three nights at the Shearaton LaGuardia East Hotel and left satisfied. I'll tell you why. The why is this: the room was, when I checked in, clean. The bed was comfortably firm and there were several uncomfortably mushy pillows. The bathroom was okay with a flimsy plastic toilet seat. The soap/shampoo/towel situation was fine. First time staying at this location to attend the US Open. We will always stay at this property now because of the location, but most of all because of the staff. There was a gentleman by the name of Rafael, who I believe was a sort of concierge. He was very helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us. The front desk personnel were also very helpful and courteous. Hotel management should consider themselves lucky to have these employees.
