“CheLi in Flushing is legit amazing. That squirrel fish? Super crispy, sweet, tangy — straight-up addicting. The place looks gorgeous too, like old-school China but super clean and chill. Service was on point. Honestly, I’d come back just for that fish.“

“Good place for various dim sum dishes, including fried buns and dumplings. They also had a promotion going on for free Peking duck buns with purchase, which were really flavorful. We went when it opened, so there wasn’t much of a crowd. Cash only.“

“I don't often review places but this spot is great.
I was slightly worried when we walked in and the staff was amazingly friendly (atypical of your standard Chinese spot). Bantering with customers and laughing and giving out hugs, knowing customers' preferred seating. Super attentive and friendly.
Food came out and was legit.
Soup dumplings were hot and juicy, skin was thin but doesn't break, overall well seasoned.
SJBs had crispy bottoms and fluffy tops, perfect texture.
Rice cakes had wok hay and massive flavor.
Salt Pepper Squid was hot and crispy, with well seared onions/peppers & deep fried shallots to top.
Solid place. Will def go back and try their more Canto focused dishes next time (which looked delicious too).“

“Din Tai Fung has been a long-time favorite of mine, and I’ve visited their locations across Asia more times than I can count. So, I was really looking forward to the opening of this NYC location. It took some time, but as soon as I walked in, I could see why. This isn’t like the more casual branches I’m used to – they’ve gone all out, creating a stunning space that’s perfect for a special night out. Though it’s a large venue, it feels intimate, and the table arrangement makes conversations easy. Service was excellent; our waiter was excited to introduce us to the restaurant and stayed attentive throughout the meal.
Now, the food! We tried two varieties of their signature xiaolongbao – the traditional pork and the pork and crab. Both were superb and just as good as what you’d find in Asia. The paper-thin wrappers are some of the best I’ve had outside of the Pacific, with great flavor and delicious soup inside. The pork chop fried rice was also outstanding – tender, juicy pork served over perfectly cooked fried rice. We also enjoyed the seaweed and tofu salad, which was a great starter. I did miss the wild vegetable tofu and sesame oil salad I’ve had in Asia, but I imagine it might be due to ingredient availability here. Prices are a bit higher than their Asian branches, but for me, the atmosphere and quality were worth it. I’ll definitely be back.
Note: Unlike other locations, this one is reservation-only.“

“Delicious, well executed dishes. Had the cilantro beef stir fry (ordered extra spicy - and it was! 🤗), and the black mountain ramen - both were excellent. You self order at the kiosk, which worked great, and the food came out promptly. Highly recommend!“

“A modest counter in the New World Mall food court, but the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. We loved the Pork Soup Dumplings and the Spicy Beef Casserole.
Parking: New World Mall Parking Garage has direct access to the Food Court on Level C.“

“I enjoyed my last visit, so I stopped again on Oct. 26, 2024. The food was still great. Ordered a lot more than what we could finish. Packed and brought home. If I have to do some comparisons, the Soup Dumplings with Pork were much better than Pan Fried Pork Buns.
This was my first time at Lao Yu Yuan. I very much enjoyed the food and experience. The taste was pretty authentic, the service was good, and the environment was clean and enjoyable. For the 4 dishes we ordered, I liked the "Mustard Green, Bamboo Shoots, and Pork Rice Cake" was the best. From the materials to preparation to taste were just perfect. The taste of the "Sesame Praised Fish" was great, but it would be better if a different type of fish was used. The fish was a bit too hard. The "Soup Dumpling with Pork" tasted great. The vinegar prepared for the dumpling was perfect. The dough for the dumpling was a bit too tough, especially the top tip portion of the dumpling.“

“It's interesting to see a Shanghai restaurant offering Sichuan dishes. Maybe because the other Sichuan restaurant on the same floor (Da Xi) was closed so some of the chefs came over.
The 醉鸡 Chicken in Yellow Wine was very nice, and was the first dish we finished. 小炒黄牛肉 was okay, 干锅花菜 good,酸菜黑鱼汤 was okay. We also got soup dumplings for $1 (spend $30+ get it for $1 promo). Kids went for chicken fried rice and stir fried rice cake and liked them.“

“I lived in NY for 37 years and nothing beats the food. That being said, I moved to Florida 4 years ago for work and haven't been back until last week. We went in for Thanksgiving (work), and decided we would do take out for dinner. This place was amazing. Food is always what I expected.....New York food is the best. The staff was super friendly, the prices were not anything crazy, and the food was ready within 10 minutes. We brought it back to the hotel and ate all of it. I don't know how food is where you are, but they always bury it in rice. Not here. They gave so much chicken and pork on top of the rice, I was very satisfied. Highly recommended.“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“I'm a foodie and I love trying new and interesting Chinese food. This place did not disappoint. The poached chicken in wine sauce was perfect, the rice cakes pork and preserved vegetable was something I never had before, and it was very tasty, especially with the hot sauce on the table. I also enjoyed the shrimp and vegetable dumplings that were gigantic and delicious. We got free soup dumplings, that were perfection. The only problem was that FOX NEWS was on, and I find that very offensive. It ruined an otherwise very nice atmosphere - I would change the atmosphere rating and the overall rating to 5 if they promise I will never return to find FOX NEWS on the TV.“
