“Just have to give a quick shoutout to Hard Bean on Merrick Ave. Victor and his wife Elise opened 10 days ago just north of the train station. My fiancé and I were talking to the owners and learned that opening a coffee shop was Victor’s dream. After working at his previous career for almost 30 years, he retired and opened this place. It’s charming inside and the coffee is delicious and less expensive than *$s. They are literally a mom and pop shop and after spending some time there I wanted to post to support and recommend Hard Bean to all the locals.“

“A lovely café with a nice, relaxing environment and simple yet elegant décor. The vibe is calm and inviting—perfect for unwinding or enjoying a quiet moment. I tried the matcha latte and absolutely loved it; the balance between the milk and matcha was just right, smooth and not overpowering. The avocado sandwich was also delicious and very satisfying. A great spot to relax and enjoy quality drinks and food. Highly recommend!“

It’s nice that it’s open late until 11PM as well for the crowd that wants to be able to hang and socialize without being at a bar.

“The coffee was absolutely delicious, and the macarons were SO adorable I almost didn’t want to eat them! The shop itself is beautiful—so cozy, intimate, and peaceful. It genuinely feels like a little getaway from the city where you can slow down and relax for a while. The owner is also wonderful and makes the space feel even more welcoming. Such a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be coming back to try the food! 🤍“

“This spot has become our favorite breakfast and lunch (brunch lol) spot to come as y’all can see in the picture. Nice area, very good ambiance, the servers are nice specially (“Margo & Margery”) super attentive and very warm and welcoming.

Maybe one of the cleanest looking restaurants I have ever scene.
Very nice ambiance.
Food was yum, we got truffle fries, penne aka vodka, the cauliflower, and mozzarella sticks, and pizza.
Got a salad that was ehh but they took it back no problem, really good service.
Bathroom was also very nice, fresh smelling…..
Shoutout to Juan who ran after us to give us our pizza in the freezing cold 📣📣“

“We stopped here randomly on our way back from the Hamptons to New Jersey and we had one of the best service experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. Our server was personally invested in making sure we had the best experience in any restaurant ever!
The menu is all Indian with lots of non-veg and vegetarian options. They offered to customize anything on the menu we wished for and made food without onion garlic for me. The food was very fresh and tasty. We ordered Alleppey fish curry and Palak Paneer with Kerala Poratta. Rice was complimentary.
I highly recommend this place if you happen to be in the area.“

“I ordered Duck Donuts through Uber Eats, and they were still warm when they arrived, which was great. The donuts were fresh and soft, but they were a little too sweet for my taste. If you have a big sweet tooth, you’ll probably enjoy them, but I wish they weren’t quite as sugary.“

“By far the best espresso in all 5 boroughs. It literally doesnt matter what espresso drink you get, latte, cappuccino, flat white, flavors, no flavors...it doesnt matter because theyre espresso is so top notch that every drink is a guaranteed hit. “It was a wonderful experience , considering it is my first time. We had to wait a few minutes to get our table for 4 but that’s okay! The employees were super nice and went out of their way to pull and extra table for us. I loved the authentic atmosphere. The lighting, decor, and the overall feeling of the restaurant was great! And amazing food. My family loved what we ordered and the matcha cheesecake for dessert was so good! Compliments to the chef! I could definitely see myself coming back here again, whether alone or with family or friends. Well done, Nippon Cha!“

“I always want to support new, local businesses, so I've been here twice since it opened. The location is great, the interior is nice, and the staff is certainly friendly enough. The only real problem is the service. The infrastructure doesn't support the volume of business that this shop is attracting. Waiting 20+ minutes for a simple ice coffee doesn't cut it, especially at the high prices that I know they have to charge in order to afford the rent in Roslyn Village. They don't really have the space for more coffee making equipment, so perhaps the solution is that enough people will eventually avoid the long wait and take their business elsewhere, thus decreasing demand and wait times. Not my preferred solution, but we'll see where it goes!“

“Just went to Greek City Grille and ordered the chicken souvlaki platter with lemon potatoes. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and the lemon potatoes were absolutely amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and the place was so clean and decorated beautifully. Will definitely be coming back!“
