Sometimes I pop in and they recognize me and do it immediately other times if I have to wait ( only because the customers are ordering slow ordering) I still get it perfect.
They have a difficult location in that they are very close to local hospitals
They try the best can and typically do a great job

The staff is always friendly, and today they went above and beyond with a really kind gesture that made my morning. Great matcha, great service, and super convenient location. “Just have to give a quick shoutout to Hard Bean on Merrick Ave. Victor and his wife Elise opened 10 days ago just north of the train station. My fiancé and I were talking to the owners and learned that opening a coffee shop was Victor’s dream. After working at his previous career for almost 30 years, he retired and opened this place. It’s charming inside and the coffee is delicious and less expensive than *$s. They are literally a mom and pop shop and after spending some time there I wanted to post to support and recommend Hard Bean to all the locals.“

“I was a passerby not from the neighborhood and decided to try this coffee spot and it was very underrated and didnt have many reviews but the coffee here is truly amazing and strong unlike many other cafes these are real strong espresso shots that will give u energy. I had their hot latte which came with 3 shots and i asked for an extra one and it came out very strong like i wanted it kept me awake for a long time on very little sleep. Very law enforcement friendly and fairly priced i rather pay $4 for a cup of coffee here and have real coffee than $8 at Starbucks or dunkin for tasteless coffee.

“The coffee was absolutely delicious, and the macarons were SO adorable I almost didn’t want to eat them! The shop itself is beautiful—so cozy, intimate, and peaceful. It genuinely feels like a little getaway from the city where you can slow down and relax for a while. The owner is also wonderful and makes the space feel even more welcoming. Such a hidden gem. “Just went to Greek City Grille and ordered the chicken souvlaki platter with lemon potatoes. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and the lemon potatoes were absolutely amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and the place was so clean and decorated beautifully. Will definitely be coming back!“

It’s nice that it’s open late until 11PM as well for the crowd that wants to be able to hang and socialize without being at a bar.

“We don’t even know how many times we’ve been here 😂 It’s definitely one of our go-to matcha spots in Flushing! We always get the matcha latte because it’s consistently so good and we never get tired of it. 🍵🤍

We also tried the mango sticky rice drink and the jasmine matcha latte, and both were sooo good! The mango sticky rice drink is such a fun and unique combination, while the jasmine matcha latte has such a nice floral flavor.

Definitely recommend trying them if you’re here! Everything is super refreshing and worth it. We’ll definitely keep coming back! 💚“

“I ordered Duck Donuts through Uber Eats, and they were still warm when they arrived, which was great. The donuts were fresh and soft, but they were a little too sweet for my taste. If you have a big sweet tooth, you’ll probably enjoy them, but I wish they weren’t quite as sugary.“

Maybe one of the cleanest looking restaurants I have ever scene.
Very nice ambiance.
Food was yum, we got truffle fries, penne aka vodka, the cauliflower, and mozzarella sticks, and pizza.
Got a salad that was ehh but they took it back no problem, really good service.
Bathroom was also very nice, fresh smelling…..

“We stopped here randomly on our way back from the Hamptons to New Jersey and we had one of the best service experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. Our server was personally invested in making sure we had the best experience in any restaurant ever!

The menu is all Indian with lots of non-veg and vegetarian options. They offered to customize anything on the menu we wished for and made food without onion garlic for me. The food was very fresh and tasty. We ordered Alleppey fish curry and Palak Paneer with Kerala Poratta. Rice was complimentary.

“My friends and I enjoyed six wonderful drinks from Off-Peak Coffee! We ordered the Bomb! Tiger, black sesame latte, strawberry yuzu fizz, strawberry mango matcha, pistachio latte, and salted yuzu dirty. They were all delicious, but my top 3 favorites were the Bomb! Tiger, strawberry mango matcha, and salted yuzu dirty. Can’t wait to come back and try more drinks! Just be advised that there is no indoor seating, so prepare to grab-and-go :)“

“Came here around 10:30pm at night looking for a matcha latte. I was confused at first because it looks like a hotpot spot. So it seems like it’s three different stores in one. Along with Cotto Coffee, they also serve BK lemon and Mala Siblings Hotpot. They have the two different beverage spot menus posted by the cashier. I was able to easily order off the Cotto menu at the late hour even thought people were mostly there for the hotpot. Iced matcha latte was good. One of the cashiers quickly made it for me and asked me for my specifications (milk, sugar level if I wanted sugar). It was the little pick me up I needed.“

It literally doesnt matter what espresso drink you get, latte, cappuccino, flat white, flavors, no flavors...it doesnt matter because theyre espresso is so top notch that every drink is a guaranteed hit. “We've been to Pilar Coffee Bar twice now and each visit has been amazing! The iced fall pumpkin spice drinks are fantastic, and the breakfast we had today was delicious — the breakfast sandwich with sweet bacon and the veggie omelette were both excellent.

What really stands out is the owner, Justin, who goes out of his way to be nice and welcoming. He makes the whole experience feel extremely warm and inviting. This is officially our new go-to coffee spot!“

Enjoyed their spinach feta as well as breakfast burrito. They sell merch and tons of other cute knickknacks. Plenty of space to sit and enjoy whatever you end up ordering. The coffee baristas were super nice. Will be back for more caffeine!! You can encounter long lines depending on what time you come in.“
