Their donuts seemed fresher than other locations. I hope they bring the chocolate headlight back because this was the only location outside of Florida that had it. -1 star for this reason. “Just have to give a quick shoutout to Hard Bean on Merrick Ave. Victor and his wife Elise opened 10 days ago just north of the train station. My fiancé and I were talking to the owners and learned that opening a coffee shop was Victor’s dream. After working at his previous career for almost 30 years, he retired and opened this place. It’s charming inside and the coffee is delicious and less expensive than *$s. They are literally a mom and pop shop and after spending some time there I wanted to post to support and recommend Hard Bean to all the locals.“

“Tried the cinnamon bun latte on my first visit and loved it! Tiffany, the barista, was so friendly and enthusiastic, taking the time to explain the menu and share her personal favorites. I also noticed how kind and welcoming she was with every customer, not just me. Her customer service impressed me so much that I returned the very next day! The cookie butter latte was delicious, and the ciabatta panini was fresh and full of flavor. Tiffany recognized me and was just as sweet and accommodating as the day before. “Went to cha er adda 2 days ago. Loved their bhelpuri. I can assure this is the best bhelpuri in nyc. Noor was our server, she’s the best. The way she was doing everything all alone was marvelous. She’s definitely a keeper. But I would recommend to do the malai cha a little better. Also wanted to try their Choto but it wasn’t ready by then so will definitely comeback to try the Chotpoti. “We stopped here randomly on our way back from the Hamptons to New Jersey and we had one of the best service experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. Our server was personally invested in making sure we had the best experience in any restaurant ever!

The menu is all Indian with lots of non-veg and vegetarian options. They offered to customize anything on the menu we wished for and made food without onion garlic for me. The food was very fresh and tasty. We ordered Alleppey fish curry and Palak Paneer with Kerala Poratta. Rice was complimentary.
