Chanticleer Reviews
long time patron, hell I had a shot at the Chanti the day I turned 21. Played so many games on that table, and been chastised at other bars for the red chalk left on my cues. the staff over the years became friends. it WAS a place I would recommend, but not now. Not with what they've done here to the existing staff. Lost a lifetime customer with that move. #NeverAgain
just asking, for friend, what were you thinking?
They ruined the best aspect of the establishment, firing the wonderful staff members who brought a majority of the business in. Firing them with no notice or explanation. Poor form by the ownership. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
Exploitative owners, firing all staff on a whim? What kinda low life does that? Boycott Chanticleer.

The Chanticleer, or "Chanty," is a historic and well-known establishment in downtown Ithaca. It is a casual spot that feels more welcoming to locals than college students. While the food options are limited to chips, the bar stands out with a large liquor selection and several taps, offering a hometown atmosphere and great drinks at reasonable prices. The bartenders are friendly, with one even streaming the bar on Twitch under the name PorkMarshmallow. The Chanticleer is known as Ithaca's official dive bar, drawing a variety of crowds, from locals to college students, especially after 11 PM. It features activities like darts, pool, and a jukebox, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a drink with friends. The Chanticleer has a unique character, with a giant glowing rooster outside and even a Walking Dead pinball machine. Although there are no food options beyond chips, the atmosphere and friendly staff make it a must-stop for anyone looking to experience a taste of Ithaca.
