“I have been frequenting the Kookaburra Malverne location on and off for several years. The only downside is they close a bit early for my schedule and they only take cash. Other than that, this location is full of phenomenal humans. The customer service is unparalleled. Every single time that I can remember there that’s been a superb interaction with the baristas and the clientele. Today one is the baristas wishes a client Happy Birthday anniversary wishes and the client was so moved. Heck, I was moved. A couple of months ago I was here and heard a client place an order and received the order and said it wasn’t what she ordered. In many cases folks would get annoyed as they made what the client requested, but the barista was so kind and professional, but mostly so kind and understanding and she remade the clients order and offered the “mistaken” beverage for the client to take at no charge. It was such a great moment to witness. The energy in here is quite welcoming and positive. Our furry babies are welcome and everyone is treated with respect and kindness.

We were in town helping another G-FORCE location with an Amazon project, so naturally, we took a break to explore the local food scene. First Impressions: We kicked off with the Deviled Eggs – the jalapeño added a nice little kick while the bacon... well, it was bacon – crispy and delicious. Next up were the House Pickles – sweet, vinegary, and unexpectedly tasty. Who knew pickles could be this good? The Mains: Harry went with the Pulled Pork – packed with flavor, moist, and paired with an excellent sauce. The Potato Salad stood out with just the right-sized chunks, and the Cornbread? Perfectly crispy on the outside. Steve opted for the BBQ Chicken – tender and juicy, coated with that same outstanding house sauce. And the Kielbasa? This place might not be Polish, but they nailed it – full of flavor and definitely a surprise hit! The Potato Salad reminded us of Grandma’s homemade classic, and the Collards had a unique twist that, honestly, we didn’t hate. “I was working locally and decided to grab lunch from Wheeler Deli after reading the reviews. The deli is smaller and quaint but has a large case of Boars Head meats, salads, and desserts. I ordered an American Hero, sides of macaroni salad, and potato salad, and a piece of the banana bread. They got right to making my order and the wait time was less than 5 minutes. My sandwich was fresh, crisp, and delicious. The salads were creamy and had great flavor. The banana bread was outstanding; dense and sweet and flavorful. The total for food and a drink was less than $25 which was a great value. I’ll be back.“

“I’ve been to every local coffee shop you could think of within the radius of Oceanside to Long Beach. Without doubt this is THE best local coffee shop in the area. Small, quaint little hole in the wall type of shop next to the Oceanside train station that puts out THE best coffee and baked goods. The Pistachio Tiramisu was a total knock out, so so so so good. The owner Vish has to be one of the nicest people I’ve met as well. A hands on owner you can find behind the counter whipping up coffees or out on the patio engaging with his guests. Very nice spot I highly recommend coming here. Their cold brew is the best.“

The managerial staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. Melissa, our server, explained everything so well, and she took her time with us. The wait staff worked with her seamlessly so that everything came out on time, and our water glasses were always full. The cuisine offered so many different choices, even for vegetarians and vegans. The vegetarian dishes I tried were a myriad of flavors, and it was so nice to experience new creations that I have never had at any other restaurant. Revel’s decor and lighting made us feel like we were somewhere very special but also comfortable. If I lived near this restaurant, I would visit frequently. We loved our experience.“
