The visit to Mecate was a change of plans visit. I went with a friend when the restaurant we planned on going to was unexpectedly not open. The restaurant was clean, and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The server was sweet. Our meals came out quickly. I can't say that it is always fast,we were there at about 4:30. Food was great and LOVE that they put the refried beans in a hard shell bowl. Service and atmosphere were nice, but only 2 stars on the margaritas which is mainly where I had to deduct a star.

Came in around 6:30 and got sat right away since we were only a two top (we got lucky). We’ve had the same server twice and she’s such a sweetheart! Food has been great, atmosphere is great, very happy to have them nearby and definitely hope they’re around for a long time!
