First time there. The food was good, the portions were large and the staff were very friendly and polite but with that being said, the service wasn't all that great.
Drove up from the Bronx and even though it was enjoyable, I won't be going back. Why? Because I hate to be "nickel & dimed" ...I never question prices. I order what I want but when the check is upwards of $70 but I see I was charged for both cups of coffee, it's a turn-off!

Dante's Trattoria is the place to go for outstanding pizza. The large is larger than others and the pricing is good. The crust is amazing—not too thick and not too thin. Other food is fine but doesn't stand out as much as the pizza. The Fisherman pizza with white sauce is very nice, with mild flavor, perfect crust, and nice generous cheese topping. Pasta with sausage and marina is also available. The gluten free chicken francese is amazing—you could not tell the difference, so very yummy, and the best chicken francese. Service is very friendly, and delivery is efficient and timely. The owners are caring and wonderful, making you feel right at home. The dining room has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. This hidden gem in Mahopac is a staple in the community, a favorite pizza place that is here to stay.
