“I'm a regular at Familia Bakery's Farmingville location, so I was excited to stop into the Hampton Bays shop, and it lived up to everything I love about this bakery. It had the same quality, the same care, and the same friendly service I've come to expect.
Familia is who I trust with every custom birthday cake for my students, and they always go above and beyond on the design and the details. Their chocolate cake is a favorite in my house, especially with my girlfriend. It's great to know there's another location out east with the same standards.
If you're in the Hampton Bays area and need a cake for a celebration, or you just want something fresh and sweet, stop in. You won't be disappointed.“

“The Baker's Workshop at Suffolk County Community College Culinary Arts Center is a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch.
The students work so hard to prepare and serve delicious food.
Give it a try. You won't be sorry.“

“So I was on a mission to buy apple cider donuts. Two places I visited beforehand didn't have any so I found this gem. There is an array of pies, cakes, cookies and preserves to satisfy your sweet tooth. I was pleasantly surprised by the bevy of items that were offered. The cashier (sorry I don't recall his name) was pleasant and helpful. Most importantly I bought 3 apple cider donuts and a Bavarian donut. Next time I am out this way I'll be sure to pick up bread, preserves and soup.“

“The first time I tried the pretzel croissant I became addicted! All of their croissants are amazing... Their coffee is awesome too! So glad it opened in Southold. Lately, they've been making the pretzel croissants into egg sandwich which I'm sure is delicious too, but I prefer to ask for it alone :) Whoever is making these croissants, thank you Chef!!!!“

“Some places you seek out. Others seem to find you.
Stumbling upon Ali Katz Kitchen in Mattituck last weekend felt a little like that.
After nine years of calling Sag Harbor home, we’ve been spending our first real season getting to know the North Fork—and discovering the places that give this side of the East End its own sense of character.
And then there’s the food.
There is something to be said for really good comfort food. Food that doesn’t need to be overly complicated to be memorable. Food that simply hits the spot.
Today, we found it.
Fried chicken. Green beans. Potato salad.
Simple, familiar, and so incredibly good.
As a tastemaker and someone who has spent years representing chefs and telling the stories behind food, I’m naturally curious about the people behind what lands on the table. I loved discovering that Ali & Fitz are both chefs and reading the story behind what they’ve created together.
Because when there is passion behind the food, you can taste it.
And that may be what I loved most about Ali Katz Kitchen. It feels like two chefs doing what they love creating delicious food and sharing it with their community.
What a beautiful little discovery in Mattituck.
