Restaurantji's Middletown picks for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“Love, love, love it here. The staff is always so warm and welcoming and the food is on point. I don't know why it's never busy in there. The food is excellent. Maybe a lot of people don't know this little restaurant even exists.“
“While in town for a concert, we needed a quick (but quality) dinner and got this recommendation. Ordered the Taco Combo with chicken, beef and shrimp and it was spot on. The recipe was authentic Mexican and the service was just as warm. Nice find!“
“I been coming here everyday since Ramadan started…Tacos are delicious with sauces and lime my favorite taco spot right now. The service is usually good they are welcoming and a real family business but just one time I felt as one of them where in a bad mood and hung the phone up in my face but at the same time they literally always have phone troubles…Won’t ring or beeps then hangs up when they do answer their great and I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for that one time plus everyone has bad days!“
“I went to La Riviera Maya, and tried high, medium, medium-low, and low level taco restaurants in the area, and I must said, non of them compared to the ones in this place! I was always comparing every taco I’ve tried with the ones from Ruben’s and the closest one was the medium-low level one.I recommend this place 500%“
“The atmosphere is amazing. That's the high point of this restaurant. I also love that they have a sauce bar where you can sample all kinds of different sauces. The food is decent, but it's not the most authentic Mexican food and the menu is a little limited compared to most Mexican restaurants. The service was good and the tortilla chips with all of the different salsas were probably the highlight of the meal. The chicken tortilla soup was very salty and didn't taste too good. That and the limited menu cost them a five star review instead of four stars. The rest of the food was pretty good though. It wasn't amazing, but it was decent.“
“Incredibly fresh. Great service! I've lived in El Paso and Chiapas, probably the best Mexican food I've had in ages. Worth every penny. Best mole ever, TRUE Pueblan mole NOT some Americanized brown gravy with a hint of chocolate. Wish I lived near by and wasn't just passing through.“
“Taco factory Middletown reviewI walked in and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by Juan which I believe is the owner! I will say to take someone on a date or just to simply grab a bite to eat this place walking into it is nothing but pleasant. You walk in and you feel the culture in this beautiful establishment. the pictures on the wall down to the furniture simply magnificent.First stop always the bathroom to wash your hands and, of course probably one of the CLEANEST bathrooms I’ve ever walked into.Once seated Juan brought me over chips that are like no other chip chicharrines I’ve tasted before they taste very delicious by its self lightly salted, perfect! The wait time for 4 tacos received was probably about 7-10 minutes but once I got to them oh my taste buds were in heaven! Called gorditas I got chicken let me tell you! COME TRY THIS FOOD OUT FOR YOURSELF SIMPLY AMAZING!!!I UNDERSTAND WHY THIS ESTABLISHMENT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 16 years continue the great job in here guys! You will see me again!!!“
“I've been going to this place for years another place that's loosing their quality during a recession if ask for extra sauce they charge u and we went I to eat recently t h e food was good as usual but they serve chips when u sit down and today they gave chip crumbs that tasted stale unacceptable when ur doubling ur prices and I gotta worry about buying stale food now too..come on guys be loyal to ur loyal customers u can do better than this ..“
“We were pleasantly surprised that this small little restaurant serves such great food. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was delicious. Service was good. One downside, the waitress did not speak any English , But well worth it. Highly recommend ii.Oh, one other downside,no fountain soda. Cans, Coca-Cola ? productsParking: We were lucky to get a spot right in front of the restaurant.“
“Absolutely delicious ?We had the “soup of the day” Caldo Tlaxcalteco it was hearty & flavorful. It came with a side of tortillas or bread. Also, ordered a breakfast sandwich of chorizo & huevo with avocado, sautéed jalapeños, beans & cheese. The bread was nice and toasty which was a plus.We enjoyed our food. Staffed is super friendly & their establishment is spotless.Give them a try!!“
“Everything was good except for one issue. The food all tasted very good. The service was good and the food was served quickly. It was a nice ambience and seemed clean. While some of the serving sizes were decent though, such as the large drinks, we were given very little chicken. For the amount we paid, we expected to get a lot more chicken with our meal, as chicken is relatively inexpensive. The small portions of meat is the one thing keeping me from being in a rush to go back again. I would give them a 3, but I don't want to hurt a local business that was otherwise good, so I'll give them a 4.“
