We've rounded up Monticello's top Mexican spots for you to try.
“We visited here twice during our stay in upstate New York (in Monticello). My mom and I are both celiac and we found it difficult to find food in the area around our hotel but luckily we found this amazing restaurant only about 10 minutes away from us and we had to try it out. I called twice to check if they had gluten free options and was given the best news of almost everything on the menu being gluten free. The staff was very knowledgable about what was in their food! We had a party of nine so the wait was a little long as the restaurant was packed during the evening but it was completely worth the wait. The portion sizes were great for such great prices (a majority of us took some of our food back to the hotel because we were so full!!) We were very happy with the food and the service, all of the staff was working very hard to meet our needs and they make most of their food on their own rather than getting it from another source. P.S. if you want to have a shorter wait we recommend going during lunch time!“

“My boyfriend has been raving about this place for months and finally brought me here for my birthday and I was beyond thrilled! The food and atmosphere were amazing! Food is reasonably priced and they do not short you on it at all !! I got the salmon fajitas and the piece of salmon alone was huge!! Best birthday present ever to have gone here! I highly recommend trying this place for flavorful authentic food if you haven’t been here yet!!“
“This is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever tried. The family who runs it are so nice!! During COVID they have been so responsible!! We have vegetarians in my house and the options they have are so tasty!! The place is not fancy, but fun and delicious. You can trust this place and you definitely should try it.“
“The staff are extremely nice. Food is great. General tso is uniquely made and dumplings appear home made. Never had that before. Egg roll was huge and delicious. Now for the negatives: soda is expired, place is a bit dirty and they had cats running around the kitchen. Lo mein was meh.“
“Quiet family owned authentic Mexican food spot. I love Mexican food pretty much in any way, but this place makes it with love. It's a family business and the culture thrives here through the food, it seems simple enough but each bite nearly makes you hungrier. Perhaps there's not enough help around, I got food around dinner time and they were busy, but it's not too crazy and definitely worth the wait. More than fair prices for what you're getting.“
“Very decorative and welcoming, the staff were so kind. Food was delicious and seems like the best looking restaurant in the area. Took 20 minutes for 2 dishes and 2 shakes, not bad and worth the wait. Would visit again if I go to Liberty NY again.“
“Everything we've had has been amazing. I don't usually order quesadillas but when I saw they make theirs with Oaxacan cheese I knew it had to be good. Omg - I was right, it's so delicious. So glad we have this place close by!“
