Portugalia houses a bakery and small little cafe. It offers up delicious simple comfort meals in form of sandwiches, empenadas and salads. If you order the grilled chicken salad it may appear pretty mundane but the taste is far from it. The chicken is moist and tender and is served with a olive vinegrette dressing that has a light hint of vinegar which I like, usually the vinegrette can be too overwhelming. Bread, baked goods, grilled cheese and more! The bread was perfectly pressed to melt the muenster cheese and butter, creating an amazing sandwich. I washed it down with a deliciously refreshing Guaraná soda and sat down in the restaurant which felt like home.

My recent trip to Portugal had me craving for anything baked goods from the country, and this place was found by luck. We went inside to see if they have the Portuguese egg tart (Pasteis de nata), and I was delighted they have and it was freshly made. It tasted like the ones I've had in Portugal! I live in Brooklyn, and I maybe coming to Mineola more than usual now.
