“On a yacht delivery from Ft Lauderdale to P'Town. Stopped in for the night (late June 2023) and needed a good dinner. Saw this cute/unique restaurant on way to the typical fried seafood place down the road. Didn't care for the "attitude" and decided to come back to Rooted - so glad we did. Great food, smoked Old Fashion was beyond delicious, and our server Masha and bartender Sarah went above and beyond to make our dinner experience great. Small, only a few tables, which allows for the chef to cook the food to perfection. Highly recommended and will come back on next trip.”

“Fried chicken was amazing, legit some of the best I’ve ever had.It was quite packed/seemed a bit disorganized when we were there, so here’s a tip: go to the back to order the fried chicken / sides. Once they hand it to you, go check out at the front. You don’t need to wait in line to pay at the deli counter.”

“The fries were amazing, they only had one working bathroom while we’re were here and it is a tight squeeze. There was a line and the sink was not draining well. The lobster roll was delish but the kids chicken quesadilla was amazing! I stole quite a few bites. My husband had the fish sandwich also good! The drinks were cold and delicious. We got sat right away but the food took a bit long to come out.”

“What a local gem! Okay, it was noisy. it’s a bar style atmosphere, so this isn’t a knock against the place. I have to mention the service. Wow, fast and reliable doesn’t go far enough. The kitchen forgot my bacon. Not a problem, no delay, just quick recovery. This is how mistakes are flipped and guest satisfaction is assured! I had the Point Burger. Cooked to what I asked for, and was tasty. My partner had the wings, and he enjoyed them. We had the potato skins as an appetizer. Again, cooked well. For what The Point is, a local hole in the wall, this place excels! If you find yourself in Montauk, drop by! You too might be pleasantly surprised.”

Staff are so nice and efficient! This place doesn’t experience the crowds that other places do in Montauk during the summer, which I selfishly love!”

“This is our go to whe. We are out in Montauk. We usually do lunch but this time we did dinner and wow were we blown away.

We had a salmon dinner with creative and ample sides and also a penne with fennel which the pink vodka sauce was in my opinion best I ever had .. also had the portobello burger with this pesto and fig sauce that blew me away .

Honestly for all the new and choices joints in Montauk for the Price point, serving size and QUALITY ..maybe skip the usual tourist traps by the water and try this local town gem. We ha e consistently eaten there for 15 years and never ever disappoints.

“We have been going to see Tom at Star Island Grill for quite some time....whether we have fish or not....
He and his crew have treated us to an amazing meal and friendship, each time...
Tonight, he had time to prepare something a little different.... the night before, we were talking about things we like.... and tonight, he prepared 3 dishes with all we talked about... absolutely over the top flavor and quality!
All dishes were Fluke....
1) Fish in Sambuca sauce with zucchini over asparagus.
2) Panco Crusted with tomatoes, onion and peppers in wine sauce over vegetables
3) Shrimp Stuffed filet over risotto
And the most delicious brownie, custard, ice cream as dessert...”

The fried rice was done to perfection with the beef and lobster, the rice had wok-hei and very balanced with each rice coated with eggs. The lobster goes very well with the brocolli.
