“hands down the best restaurant in Montauk - no need to look any further. extremely fresh and creative dishes that are amazing every single time. most of the ingredients for their menu items are local!! either coming from local fishermen or farms, which is amazing and so unique. it really makes all the difference in the food quality. any restaurant that has seasonal menu items i trust!! i love that they change their menu and specials based on the seasons. staff is 10/10 and family vibes are 10/10. you feel like a real part of MTK community here. will always be back!!”

“Great beach at Gurneys. Went there a lot over my stay. Had a Cabana, which was set up really nice. Service was good, but the servers didn't come by that often. The servers probably came once every two hours, but you can go up to the bar and ask for things if you need something (drinks, food, sunscreen, etc.). Food was ehh (definitely frozen), but I was there for the beach. Too be honest, I recommend just walking down and getting yourself a beach chair and umbrella, and that should work. Cabana is good if you have a large group or want to have a few couches. Overall, the beach was nice, quiet, and clean.”

“What a local gem! Okay, it was noisy. it’s a bar style atmosphere, so this isn’t a knock against the place. I have to mention the service. Wow, fast and reliable doesn’t go far enough. The kitchen forgot my bacon. Not a problem, no delay, just quick recovery. This is how mistakes are flipped and guest satisfaction is assured! I had the Point Burger. Cooked to what I asked for, and was tasty. My partner had the wings, and he enjoyed them. We had the potato skins as an appetizer. Again, cooked well. For what The Point is, a local hole in the wall, this place excels! If you find yourself in Montauk, drop by! You too might be pleasantly surprised.”

Staff are so nice and efficient! This place doesn’t experience the crowds that other places do in Montauk during the summer, which I selfishly love!”

“This is our go to whe. We are out in Montauk. We usually do lunch but this time we did dinner and wow were we blown away.

We had a salmon dinner with creative and ample sides and also a penne with fennel which the pink vodka sauce was in my opinion best I ever had .. also had the portobello burger with this pesto and fig sauce that blew me away .

Honestly for all the new and choices joints in Montauk for the Price point, serving size and QUALITY ..maybe skip the usual tourist traps by the water and try this local town gem. We ha e consistently eaten there for 15 years and never ever disappoints.

“I had my daughter and her fiancés Welcome Party the night before their wedding at Cap’s last weekend. I booked while Sammy was still owner. He graciously handed my party over to the new owner Amy as she took over the restaurant. While they all were doing the work for their opening, Amy worked with me and together we made the final plans for a party of about 107 people plus a few children!!! Food was fresh and delicious. Atmosphere was very nice. Thank You for a memorable night. Every one enjoyed the night.”

“Such a lovely venue. This charming yacht club offers a respite from the more heavily touristed areas of Long Island and has a more local feel. The staff were very welcoming and the chef was brilliant too. The restaurant has been recommended to us by Viking Fleet, as somewhere to bring our catch for cooking. We had caught around 5 good sized Porgies and a couple of Sea Bass. The chef turned these into dishes from around the world. Tempura, fish tacos, bang bang salad and a Chinese style rice dish.
Highly recommend.”

“Cool old school atmosphere. Old man at the counter is just the sweetest. Food is very.....meh. It was all cooked to order which is nice. Fried chicken was seasoned well but very dry. Everything else seemed like it came straight out of a freezer at Costco.

Service and ambiance saves the place. Next time im out ill give the chicken another try.”

“Visiting Montauk - found it online and been twice now. Just behind main street. Take out or eat casually on benches outside. Wide range of seafood options. Loving the Lobster Bisque and the Hooked House salad is a real must. Check it out - you will not be disappointed.”

If you’re looking for a nicer vibe there are other more fancier spots, but for a nice meal, amazing service, and a comfy place to sit, this spot is great.”

“I ordered a lobster fried rice and added beef, and it was a thing of beauty. The fried rice was done to perfection with the beef and lobster, the rice had wok-hei and very balanced with each rice coated with eggs. The lobster goes very well with the brocolli. Generous portion of lobster and food. 5 stars!”

“Food preparation and overall service is slower than molasses but the spicy hobo bfast w/ sausage sandwich is probably the best bfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Legit took more than 40 minutes to get it though.”

“El Taco Ole is a great spot for tasty tacos in Montauk. The flavors are excellent, and the food definitely stands out. There’s plenty of outdoor seating for nice days and lots of tables inside as well, making it easy to find a comfortable place to sit. The customer service was friendly and helpful, which added to the overall experience.

It is on the pricier side — I paid about $71 for five tacos plus chips and guac, which felt a bit expensive for the quantity. But after tasting the food, it was hard to complain too much because the quality really delivered.

“My daughter and husband had their wedding reception at Navy Beach restaurant recently. Service, food and venue were first rate. Was asked multiple times if all was well and communications with Franklin were great through the planning process and day of wedding. What a fun and festive vibe on the beach for the cocktail hour then dinner in the restaurant overlooking the beach! Bar service was polite, friendly and very helpful. All servers were polite and responsive. The food was fresh, well presented, perfectly seasoned and expertly cooked. Best meal I have had in a very long time! Guests were raving about the seafood appetizers and main meal. I loved the quartered perfectly cooked burger appetizer! A perfect venue for the wedding! Weather highlights its beauty. Fun vibe!”
