It actually wasn't bad at all.. I'm tempted to try it again. I actually wanted to try the spicy nuggets, but they didn't have any.“

It was refreshing to be greeted with such positive and friendly energy in New York. I can't wait to come back when I am in the area. “Had the breakfast burrito 🌯 been wanting to get to this place for a while.

Wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was good. The chorizo was the one I went with definitely wasn’t disappointed.

I don’t think it’s worth a far drive but if you’re in the area or it’s not completely out your way it’s definitely worth stopping in for a visit. The place does have seating but not a lot of room. There is a park near by and lots of outdoor seating near the area. That’s what I chose to do.

The breakfast burrito price was amazing especially for nyc the food was good quality and really delicious. The sauce everyone was talking about wasn’t over powering. Matter of fact I wish I had more next time I’ll ask for some on the side felt like I needed an extra pump 😂.

I truly enjoyed this place and I’m sure you guys will also the coffee was mid but it’s ok food makes up for it.

“When I was in college I was coming here almost daily to do my work. Sometimes I’d try other places but nothing compared to Mandy Bean.

The coffee is on the “pricier” side but if it was a corporate business no one would bat an eye, so I personally don’t mind because I know regardless of what I order it will be consistently made well and I am more than happy to support a small business.

They are usually busy but if I had to wait for a table/seat I was never waiting for more than 10 minutes. Plenty of parking. Bathroom is always clean. The music is perfect for concentrating on my work. It is a comfortable space for working and also to come with a friend. Their everything seasoned croissant is one of my favorite things ever. The staff is always patient, kind, and knowledgeable. My boyfriend isn’t really into coffee drinks so always finds himself enjoying a seasonal tea. There is something for everyone here.“

“There is only one place that ever made a better chai, and they are no longer in business. This is the closest I’ve ever come to reliving that glorious chai. London fog was good with beautiful smelling earl grey. Lavender latte was perfect! Cheese danish is awesome, as was the cheddar biscuit. Only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the cherry scone. Just didn’t have much flavor. Everything was amazing otherwise. Super chill vibe. Everyone seems to know each other and everyone knows the baristas, which is cool. They definitely have regulars for a reason. Thanks for starting my day off right during my visit!“

“Cute well decorated shop with seating, plants, and cold vegan food. Wish they had outlets for laptops or fresh hot food. Looks like they have liquor but they’re closed after 3pm and on weekends so that doesn’t really make sense?. Tried a horchata latte and it was very sour and difficult to drink. Man happily fixed and changed it for me. Second drink still bad.. Would not eat here again but would come back for a casual daytime date just because of the cozy ambience & Great service.“

“Standing in line at Zabars, realize that ordering the iced Vietnamese coffee would be picking an unfair fight with my normal banh mi place. Step out and have a sit on the north facing benches in the middle of Broadway @ 81st. What I really want is a quick cortado and to get back on that bench on this glorious fall Sunday before someone else nabs it. Pop into Royal - There's a barista with a friendly welcoming hello. His smile made my day better, and the cortado was excellent. Wife went in moments later and had a similar experience with a flat white. Our group had to part ways and head out of town, but Royal was a nice end to the weekend.“

“This is a really sweet cafe in Harlem! I was visiting from Oregon when someone suggested I stop by, and I'm sincerely glad I did. “Around 6:30 in the evening on weekdays, the store is almost full, business is pretty good, and the store also takes a lot of takeout orders.
The two of us ordered a bowl of mixed beef pho, a fried spring roll and a pork bun, and were very satisfied with everything. The fried spring rolls were very hot when they were freshly fried. They were crispy on the outside and filled with minced pork. They were delicious with the dipping sauce. There are three pork buns in a portion, and the fillings are crispy pork belly, pickled radish and sweet noodle sauce. This combination is unexpectedly harmonious and very satisfying. It is my favorite. The beef rice noodles contain beef tendons, beef slices and beef balls. There is not much meat but a lot of rice noodles. The soup is sweet and has a bit of Chinese medicine. It is just right for two people to share a bowl.“

“I love the Yemeni latte. The spices they flavor with match up perfectly with the honey cake and the sabaya. The vibe of this particular place is wonderful. This is a great place to unwind for an hour or so. Any time I'm in the upper west side, I have to stop here.“

“If you're looking for a local coffee shop, with a chill, cozy vibe, this is a good choice. There were 6 of us and we all ordered something different. The barista was very patient and helpful dealing with my kids questions about what's good.

My wife got the nutella and strawberry croissant and said it was good. I got the banana walnut muffin, not realizing it was vegan until it printed on the receipt. It was too dense for me and quite small. Also, the cinnamon roll had no icing/glaze on it, which was a turn off.

Overall I'd recommend Picky Barista as a place to go to relax, visit with friends, or get some work/studying done.“

“My brother and I visited this cafe and got the Einspanner and yuzu matcha passion. Delicious coffee with a yummy sweet whip on top, and the matcha was super refreshing. Aesthetics and art of the cafe are cute too, will definitely be going again!“

“This was my favorite coffee shop in Harlem. Loved the design and usage of the space. It’s lush and green with all the various plants as it’s also a plant greenery & hardware shop.

The pastries, especially the almond croissant was on par with something I’d get in Europe. It was soft buttery with the almond filling while perfect in the flakiness and texture. All in all recommend.

The gentlemen at the bar was full of charisma and just had an awesome smile. I think his name was Yousef. He engaged with everyone that walked in. Really appreciated his sincerity.

Second of all, the scrambled eggs were the best I think I've ever had. Who knew the chef there would know the secret to scrambling eggs..I had visions of sitting alfresco at a Parisian café. I mean, don't we all agree the French DO know food best?
