“This place is a slice of nostalgia for me. The inside is very much a bar, which is why they serve (and specialize) in bar pie. Service has always been decent, nothing to complain about, but nothing stand-out either. The pizza is thin and crispy. It eats light, even with toppings. My favorite topping is probably their meatball, which they thinly slice. It goes great with their sauce. Don't get me wrong though, a regular cheese pie is great too. It's also only 270 calories. You can't really beat that. There's some debate over whether it's been open since the 30's or 40's. No matter how you look at it, it's been around for a long time and a long time for a reason, a very solid bar pie.“
“These are genuinely good and caring people. They are willing to go off menu to satisfy their customers and the servers are attentive yet not overbearing. Food is exactly what I would have found in a 70s pizza place in Brooklyn except with a much wider and varied menu. I like this place a lot.“
“Although the atmosphere is average, the staff there are overall nice and chill. I ordered an 8 pc of barbecue wings for $9.80, and they were GREAT. The wait time was 20 min. The usual sides with barbecue wings (celery and carrots) were fresh and juicy. The wings itself were cooked nicely, of course weren’t dry, but juicy. For those of you that don’t like how chicken are sometimes slimy or have a slippery texture, the wings that are sold here don’t have that texture. For my fellow gym people, the food here are great for bulking up. For those of you that want to eat on a diet… well, I’m sure they have some vegetarian options that contain fresh vegetables. The pizza they have and the knots all look delicious.Go try their food! Always live your life with great quality.“
“Reading these reviews wondering did I make a mistake? Is this a franchise ? Really ? Pizza from here is always fantastic and I am from Brooklyn . Old shool and I just had a slice LOVE IT ! I hope some one reads this that is looking for the Best New York pizza come here hands down. “I don't know why I've never noticed "Piccolo Gourmet" before; I mean I'm in area a lot. It wasn't till someone told me to go, that I noticed it. But, I was hungry and a hero from Piccolo was on the menu. There was plenty of parking outside, and looking from the parking lot, at the building, I had a feeling, this place was going to be worth the trip. Inside, didn't disappoint, it was as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside. Organized, clean, and big, that's everything this deli slash pizzeria represents. Even better than the building was the staff. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The lady at the cash register more so. They didn't have something I wanted, so she was ready to check in the basement for me. I kindly told her "No thanks" but she still wanted to look for me anyway. After telling her, it's fine, she finally relented. My hero and egg salad were done, so I left. Mental note; I have to go back. I ate my hero without taking a picture. Was it because I was so hungry, or am I slipping with Yelp? I like to think I was hungry. The hero was fresh and delicious. I did have the sense to snap a shot of the egg salad, also delicious. So all said and done, this is a place I would recommend if you were in the area. Just take time and snap a photo before you eat...maybe take one for me.“
“We've been getting pizza from Gino's for a few months now and it's gotten to the point that if we're offered pizza from anywhere else, we ask if they've ever had Gino's. It's not "traditional New York pizza", it's better! The seasoning you normally add to a plain slice, is added to the pizza during the cooking process. For god sales, they have perfected the garlic knot pizza!!!“
“my pizza club randomly choose this pizzeria to visit and we were blown away. Rudy, is the man. There was about 6 of us and he treated our group with a 5 star restaurant service. He was attentive and knowledgeable about the pizza. he recommended the house salad with avocado and homemade balsamic dressing, truly amazing. the salad and dressing almost stole the show. Then our group had the plain, buffal chicken, grandma, chicken bacon ranch Pies. Everyone had their favorite pies. All really delicious. Rudy constantly checking in on us, we had real utensils and plates and he cleared the table. We asked about the pizza sauce because it tastes different and Rudy confirmed he made special sauce. This place is a true find. Our group loved it. Be back! Thanks Rudy!“
“Our goto place when we’re hungry and nothing comes to mind. Where the food is excellent, and there are plenty of delicious choices of pizza and pasta’s, the prices are good, but the employees are all friendly and go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is top shelf. Thanks to allParking: Plenty of parking either in the front or back“
