Located in a space that is easy to miss, Altair Restaurant NYC is a gorgeous inside gem. The menu concept features dishes inspired by the elements. The salmon was astonishing, and the duck entree is also recommended. Other dishes include Spring vegetables on a bed of lentils, ravioli which was earthy, and the artichoke appetizer. The pesto pappardelle pasta was wonderful. The butter in the bread and butter was special and delicious. The Hangar Stake with chimichuri with jalapeno and onion sauce was the best in NYC, and the fries with homemade ketchup was very good. Cocktails are a highlight, including a Eucalyptus mocktail with a tart sweet and floral foam. The atmosphere and lighting were magical, especially on the beautiful terrace. Service was fantastic, with amazing food and drink recommendations. The food order was arranged perfectly for pre-theater dining. Service was on point.
