Going to miss this place A LOT. - Closing end of this month, on Sept. 29th. Love, love this restaurant. Hands down, the best kaiseki & best Japanese restaurant in NYC. Hoping Chef Yamada stays in NYC and opens another restaurant. Going to come couple more times before they close.......still in a state of shock. : 10 tears

Delicious creative Japanese food. Tons of non sushi options. We did not do the kaiseiki (prix fixe) menu although it looked delicious. We did the a la carte menu and loved the charcoal grilled king salmon and the pork belly ramen entrees. The grilled king salmon was perfectly marinated and cooked to soft textured perfection. Brushstroke was an absolutely incredible dining experience. If you're planning on going, recognize that while the prices are definitely crazy high, that it'll be worth it for the equally high quality food you'll have. We went for the seasonal 5-course menu with adds on of one Chef selection sashimi and a wagyu sirloin (extra $40).
