Some of the baked goods do look dry and old (as some reviews had mentioned), but their coffee is legit, and their desserts are HUGE. My colleagues and people walked by me all “wow”ed at my Napoleon. lol. It’s only 2 street up from Hunter College, and as someone who worked in this neighborhood for more than 5 years, I say it is one of the best bakery nearby for lunch, coffee and snacks.
You can tell this place means a lot to the community based on how friendly the service is! I come here 2-4 times a week and always feel welcome! The pastries they sell are great too of course. I’ve never been disappointed

Nice selection of ready to eat sandwiches, but the service is not very friendly at all. I only go there when I am in a rush and can't get Le Pain Quotidien, just a few blocks south, where you always get a smile along with your goodies.
