Last weekend when my friends and I arrived in Harlem, we went to this little Caribbean restaurant called El Valle. My friend raved and raved about how delicious and affordable the food is, as she has been here before. It is a very small space inside. This is a cash only establishment. The plantains were made on the spot in a rush but were not fully cooked, just cooked on the outside still pinkish inside. There was barely any meat on the baked chicken. Honestly I haven’t ate here in years and since Grinis and Polanco were closed I settled for this spot but halfway through my meal, I was reminded why I do not eat from here.
