the best I've had in years
The eponymous empanadas are good here. A few months ago, they were a bit more generously filled, but I actually like the dialed back innards a bit more given that they were a touch too saline even for my salt-fiend self. The higher pastry shell to filling ratio makes for a more balanced bite now. What's even better than the empanadas, though: Venezuelan-style filled cachapas. I love. This. Place. Locations all over upper Manhattan and I’ve never met an empanada there I didn’t like. The chicken and cheese is my regular order but the shredded chicken is good too. I used to not use the sauce….. I came to my senses finally and the sauce only makes it better. Go!! And tip!!!!
