To put it simply, I think this place is a bit over-priced. I knew it would be expensive before I came, but it didn't really live up to my expectations. The cucumber drink was pretty unpleasant. I had to switch it out with the sake sangria, which was just okay. I got the wagyu sukiyaki. It wasn't bad, but for the price ($88 I believe), it wasn't really enough food. On a busy weekend in The Village, we were hard pressed to find a spot to eat. Most of the places we went to had a minimum 30 minute wait and we did not want to wait that long. Eventually, we came across EN Japanese Brasserie, a pretty upscale izakaya. They have some fancy takes on traditional Japanese dishes which we ordered, such as a spicy chutoro roll and sea bass kara-age. Superb service, beautiful restaurant, delicious food. We ordered O-Banzai and loved our selections: zen mai piri-kara, thin sliced lotus root and pork belly, and eggplant and shishito nibitashi. We also enjoyed the age dashi tofu and truffle chawanmushi, yellowtail sashimi, wagyu sukiyaki, and surprisingly yummy garlic shiso rice. Also had delicious sake!
