Cute little spot in East Village to get authentic Mexican tamales and an assortment of sandwiches and tortas (some more Mexican than others). I would strongly recommend the chicken with salsa verde tamal and then egg sandwich with chorizo /longaniza. Not much space to eat inside so more of a pick up or delivery spot in my mind.
So excited to find vegetarian tamales at Factory Tamal! I tried the rajas con queso and the salsa verde w/zucchini and the salsa verde was the clear winner.Factory Tamal has two locations - one in the East Village and one in the Lower East Side. I went to the one in the EV and it's a small space, but great for a quick (and affordable!) lunch!
