Farida - Midtown

First time trying uzbek food and it was amazing at Farida. Love the vibe of the small 24 seater dining area with lots of art work, and cultural items, definitely makes you feel you have traveled a distance to eat. Fantastic experience. Really enjoyed my meal here. As someone who spent a lot of time in NW China, I really miss eating plov, samsa, chuchvara, and manti. All of the above were excellent. We had a reservation for a large party (10 people) but several dropped out. Even so, the staff were really accommodating, helped us get situated and were really patient with our group. I’m grateful for their excellent food and kind service.

Nice place in Manhattan to have some authentic Uzbek food. My liver kebab felt a bit dry but overall food was good! Samsa was tasty, beef kebab was pretty good.The place is very small, with some seating area outside even (which to me didn’t look cozy). It’s not a fancy and an upscale place, so people go here just for food.Our server was nice.There is only one bathroom and it could definitely be better.
