Jean Claude 2 closed permanently the day before my reservation. How is it that Open Table still let me make a reservation, and why do you think I ate there? Instead, they directed me to the newly opened Jean Claude on 1st Avenue, which was wonderful.
Jean Claude 2 offers a charming and comfortable ambiance with attentive service and a perfect menu. The tuna sandwich was delicious, although the cold french fries were a disappointment. For those seeking authentic French cuisine, this restaurant provides a total dining experience with perfectly done Croque mousior and French Onion soup. The French Onion soup has received praise as some of the best, topped with amazing Gruyère cheese. Guests have enjoyed the generous portions of roasted cod and pork loin, along with the tart tatin and chocolate mousse for dessert. The interior is charming and handicapped accessible, with the option for outside seating.
