I love Metrograph's programming, but I hope the management can do more to encourage respectful viewing. During Belle de Jour, people in the audience kept loudly unwrapping candy, clunking water bottles, and generally producing any noise they felt like (some of it apparently on purpose???). This is not a baseball game or a kitsch midnight show. Noise seriously detracts from the experience. I am now hesitant to go back.

Many movie lovers appreciate the incredible selection of classic films and recognize it as a hidden gem in NYC. Although tickets can be pricey, the decor and style are considered worth the cost. However, some guests have mentioned that the seats, while stylish, can be uncomfortable, impacting their enjoyment during longer movies. Metrograph remains a must-visit for those seeking a different cinematic experience.
