Honestly this was my first ever omakase. I’ve been wanting to try it but never had a chance. I came in for lunch and it was definitely a calm vibe which I loved. The staff was friendly. The service was excellent. Like top notch. Everyone was so attentive and kind. The fish was really fresh too. I was completely satisfied and full at the end. Delicious food, delicious green tea. The chutoro was like butter. I never had uni and was scared to try it but it was so good.
Lovely intro to Japanese cuisine
Came here for my birthday for a lunch omakase. We got the 8 piece set for $65 pp and all the pieces were delectable. Forgot to take pics but the fish portion was cut super generously. This is also the first omakase place I've been to where they gave soy sauce on the side which I liked.

Omakase Room by Shin offers one of the best omakase experiences in NYC. The food is incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared, with great texture and balance. Must try their Uni, the smoothest sea urchin hand roll. Pieces are good sizes and just amazing. The atmosphere is calm and intimate, with a beautiful interior and a cool vibe like being in the overturned hull of a boat. Service is attentive without being intrusive. Chef Shin is the top omakase chef in NY, personable and engaging. The experience is refined and relaxing, with even the plating and tableware beautifully curated. Slightly hidden across from Grand Boucherie inside the 6 1/2 walkway, closer to 54th street. Now three seatings at 5, 7, and 9pm. Highly recommended.
