Great value for lunch omakase in the UES. The $49 lunch set comes with an appetizer, 9 pieces of nigiri, miso soup, and dessert, which felt very reasonable for the quality and amount of food.
The fish quality was good, especially the o-toro and salmon belly. I personally prefer a more traditional/simple style of sushi where high-quality ingredients are served with minimal seasoning, and some pieces here had a bit more toppings or flavor combinations than I usually like....read full review

Omakase Shihou on the Upper East Side offers great value for lunch omakase, with a $49 lunch set that includes an appetizer, 9 pieces of nigiri, miso soup, and dessert. The fish quality was good, especially the o-toro and salmon belly. The caramel ice cream dessert was surprisingly delicious. The food and service was excellent, with omakase pieces that were perfect. The sushi was amazingly fresh and creatively expressed. The staff are very nice, friendly, and super respectful. The server timed every dish perfectly and explained each one very carefully. The hand roll was a disappointment for some. The room is very quiet and lovely. The Premium Omakase is worth the price. It is a curated experience where conversation is politely interrupted by the introduction of each course. This is a great addition to the Upper East Side. The "regular" omakase at $65 is an eminently affordable price. Each course was superb, the house sake was lovely, and the service was delightful. It is a must stop for a real sushi experience.
