Ray’s is the textbook definition of a true East Village bodega with insanely delicious sandwiches, a reliable selection of household items, & a ton of heart. The folks who work there are friendly & warm. If you order a sandwich a couple of times here, you better believe that they’ll remember you and just how you like it. Friendly awesome fresh egg salad. If you need a product and you can stop in quick for your home they have it. Paper towels toilet paper detergent for dishes and laundry. Shower gel toothbrush and toothpaste. Deodorant shampoos hair spray aspirin etc

I've hit up Ray's on more than one occasion, and usually when I had tied one on at Shoolbreds bar which used to be close to it. Decent sandwiches, bag of chips, and a soda made for a great snack to help sober me up afterwards while hanging on the corner with my friends people watching on a weekend night in the East Village. I was in there today and not much has changed. Other than me being sober!
