Salvo’s Pizza Bar is a great neighborhood place with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The pizza is terrific, considered the best in Manhattan, with a perfectly crisp yet chewy crust and exceptional, high-quality cheese. Beyond the pizza, the entrees and sides from the kitchen are also great, with recommendations for the steamed broccoli with oil and garlic. The owners are genuinely friendly, attentive, and accommodating, offering a gluten free pizza that is very good. While the food is consistently delicious, some service experiences can be mid, with occasional hiccups. The spot always has good, upbeat music playing. Many have been dining there for years, finding it to be their favorite pizzeria in the city, and customers plan to definitely return again soon.
