Tipico56 is the best spot in town for authentic Dominican fritura. The food is delicious, full of flavor, and fresh. The place itself is charming, like a little Dominican casita in the Dyckman area, full of character and warmth. Service is phenomenal and elite, with great recommendations. The Chimi is delicious and filling. They have the best empanadas in town, and a Dominican chopped cheese with fried cheese on an original Kaiser roll is outstanding. The La Palangana is incredible, with the best yucca fries that melt in the mouth, flavorful carnitas, and excellent chicharrón. The morir soñando tastes just like home. Other items include Chicharron de Pollo, rice and beans, and a fun Dominican poutine called yaroua. All food comes out in about 10 minutes. Tipico56 is a must-visit for real Dominican flavor in a cozy, homey setting.
