A Japanese-themed speakeasy that I would definitely return to and recommend.
The bartender genuinely enjoys what he does, and the service is excellent. The vinyl music adds a perfectly fitting, almost magical atmosphere that makes the experience feel truly special.

The bar also serves beer, including Saltfield's Nodogoshi Rice Lager, and snacks like olives, which pair well with sake. The music is a standout feature, with vinyl records played all night, including jazz, hip hop, funk, and soul. The bar is small, with limited seating, but the decor and ambiance are warm and inviting. The bartenders are chill and approachable, making great recommendations. Yakuni is a great place to try distinctive Japanese liquors and flavors, like shiso, and drinks like the rice namagroni and kakibeni. The bar fills up quickly, but it's definitely worth a visit. Overall, Yakuni is a lovely intimate bar where the music and drinks really shine, and it's a great place to check out, along with its sister bar Steight.
