“Tried KFC in Newburgh and it was really good overall. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the sides were hot and tasty. Service was quick and friendly too. Giving it 4 stars because everything was great, just not quite perfect—but definitely will be going back.“

“If you’re in Beacon and not stopping at Kennedy’s Chicken, you’re doing it wrong.
The chicken is crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and hits every single time—no misses. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the food comes out hot and fast. Whether it’s late night, post-hike, post-bar, or just a straight-up craving, Kennedy’s always delivers.
Fries? 🔥
Sauce? 🔥
Chicken? Elite.
The staff is friendly, efficient, and clearly knows what they’re doing. This is comfort food done right—simple, satisfying, and consistently delicious.
Beacon has plenty of spots, but when you want something that never disappoints, this is it.
I’ll be back again and again. Highly recommend. 🐔🔥“

“Stopped here on a road trip and had a great experience! I ordered the Deluxe Burger with waffle fries. Tasted fresh and loved the fries a lot. The Chick-fil-A sauce was a nice addition.
The staff were fantastic—super friendly, patient while I decided what to order, and even cracked some jokes that made the visit fun. The rest stop itself was also really nice, with plenty of space to relax and take a break. Definitely one of the better stops I’ve been to—would happily come back!“

“While traveling upstate, I honestly wasn’t sure I’d find a good spot that accommodates halal dietary needs. Those trips can be hit or miss, especially the further you get out. But to my surprise, I came across 845 Halal and it definitely delivered.
Right across the street, there was also a Crown Fried Chicken and another halal-friendly spot, so it was clear this area had options, but I decided to give 845 Halal a try. I ended up chatting with the brother of one of the founders, who shared that their family has been in the restaurant business for about 30 years and owns multiple spots in the area. That kind of longevity says a lot.
The food itself is exactly what you’d expect from a solid halal fast food spot, burgers, fried chicken, over rice platters, but done right. Everything I had was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. I played it safe this time since it was my first visit, but I definitely had my eye on the jerk chicken. Looking back, I probably should’ve just gone for it.
The setup is straightforward, quick service, casual vibe, and they do have some seating available. One thing to note, though, no public restroom, so plan accordingly if you’re stopping by during a longer drive.
Overall, if you’re passing through upstate New York and need a reliable halal option, this is a spot worth checking out. If I lived nearby, I could easily see myself coming here a couple of times a week. Next time, I’m definitely going for that jerk chicken.“
