The lentil soup is special in that there is no grittiness to the lentils and Spiro was kind enough to share with me the method to that success.

“Last night I took my 95 yo dad with my family here, our Go-To Greek restaurant and as always we had another wonderful meal. The grilled octopus, coconut shrimp and the haloumi cheese were all delicious. I had the chicken santorini for the first time and it was amazing as it melted in my mouth. “Had an incredibly large portioned, fresh, Greek salad with gyro meat on top for lunch last week. This place went out of there way to put meat in separate container so it didn't wilt the lettuce. Fries were crunchy, generous portions of dressing and tzatziki and a warm fresh pita rolled in foil to stay fresh.“

Food is delicious and all staff, front and back of house, are friendly and professional. Nice view of the town and calm atmosphere. Most of the wait staff hired are in high school or college, making this a good place to go to if you’re looking to support neighborhood kids. The owner is a kind, respected member of the local town who goes above and beyond to give back to the community. 10/10 highly recommend.“

“The food was excellent! Had the Fried Calamari (but you can order grilled), and the Mediterranean Octopus salad. Both were good but we all really loved the octopus! We had the Mixed Grill which consists of lamb chop, pork chop, skirt steak and chicken. menu says "serves 2" but it easily fed 4, and I don't think I'll finish what I took home in one sitting! Also had the Mixed Grill Vegetable which goes well obviously with the protein dish. Had a Greek beer and a glass of Greek red wine. Very friendly service: the bartender, greeter, our waiter, all gave good vibes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!“

“Greek Cove Merrick’s lunch special is incredible. Ate the warm pita in the car on the way home! Grilled chicken with a salad and rice. One huge chicken cutlet over a generous portion of delicious rice and a tasty Greek salad- with a grape leaf and feta! I am a very picky eater but this chix was seasoned beautifully, so that if garlic, onion or rosemary(my triple threat) was used, it all blended together perfectly so that even I could not pick out the offensive spice. Amazingly, the yogurt sauce is also tasty( I hate yogurt sauce;usually throw it away). Forgot to tell them not to give it to me, so as not to waste it, but I’m glad I forgot! All of this, and a lot of smiling happy employees, for $12.99 cash. Wowza.“

“Al Kababi is hands down one of the best spots for authentic Pakistani food. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with these amazing aromas that just get you excited for what’s coming. The fact that it’s Zabiha makes it even better, knowing everything is halal and carefully sourced. The food? Incredible. We started with the beef Bihari, and they were so juicy and packed with flavor—just the right amount of spice and served with this fresh mint chutney that tied everything together. The biryani, which was perfection. The rice was fragrant, and the meat was super tender, with all those spices working in harmony. The real star, though, was their Amazing Nihari. It tasted homemade, like something you’d get at a family gathering. The spices were bold but balanced, and the meat was cooked to perfection. You could tell they put real love into this dish.
And let’s not forget the naan—soft, warm, and just the right texture to scoop up all the delicious flavors. The staff was so friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. If you’re craving real Pakistani food, Al Kababi should be at the top of your list. Usually places with large menus tend to have a hard time keeping items fresh, but no not here at hell's kitchen the food was great flavor and taste are great. I ordered a chicken gyro platter. The gentleman behind the counter insisted I try the empanadas so I did and it was very good. The crust was very crispy and flaky just like a traditional empanada and it was stuffed with spicy chicken. I wish I would have ordered a few more. I recommend stopping by if you are in the area.“

“Recently found this place and have been very happy I did. The meats have a decent char which I look for with my meat forward meals if I can get things cooked by flame. The seating is not best but honestly that’s far from a deterrent for me. I want repeated and proper flavor from the kitchen and that’s what I’ve gotten. I’ve also brought a myriad of friends here and they all concur that the food is a very good handling of what Greek/gyro flavors should be. Definitely worth a try for me.“

Gyro had plenty of meat (lamb) w/lettuce, tomatoes & onions. All very fresh. Husband had Falafel which he said was absolutely delicious. We had a great lunch. “Some of the kindest people in the food business! I came in today to pick up an Uber Eats order, but shortly had to return the order due to car trouble. The man counting receipts (presumably owner/owners son or manager, not sure) quickly offered to help after overhearing my explanation to the cashier for my return. They got my car started up in under five minutes! Truly above and beyond for someone who wasn't even their customer. I am very happy to know there are businesses in the community like this!!“
